OK, I have a few more points on #ResumeReview today. These are my pet peeves, others may not agree, or may have an entirely different list. #Hiring #ResumeTips
1. I would rather see two pages of resume instead of a font size so small that the reviewer needs to magnify to 200% to match other resumes.
2. Please list how much time you've spent in a position, ideally "From month year to month year". If you want to leave things vague, please at least list the year. Knowing if you spent 3 months or 3 years in a role matters, and we may not give you the benefit of the doubt.
3. List positions that are not directly relevant to the job you're applying for, but do think about the ways that they're relevant to this job, and if you can, tweak your resume to focus on those points. -

I'm reviewing a lot of resumes for a position on my team (sorry, applications are closed at this point), and I have some recommendations for making your resume more attractive during hiring. #Hiring #ResumeReview #ResumeTips
1. Title your resume YourFullName. I don't want to come across a resume and have to open it up to find out whose it is.
2. If you choose to use a year/month in the name, make it current. Even if you last updated your resume a year or two ago, when you apply in 2024, that number should be 2024.
3. Other things in the title are un-necessary. Do your versioning somehow, great, but if I see "Resume3" in the name, or "copy" or "final" it looks less professional.
4. Re-using example sentences is fine, but please update them. "with [X] years of experience"
5. PDF is preferred. The companies you are applying for may not use Word, so it's inconvenient for them and may throw off the formatting of your resume. -
