I just seen this comment on a vid. i just watched in reference to the UK's Online Safety Act. I Totally agree! This also would relate to the USA's Restrict Act bill as well.

Just sent a strongly-worded letter to representatives/senators.
Needed a multi-stage process to finish the letter, I had to process my emotional reaction & distill to something grammatically sensical.
We'll see how they respond...

On a recent episode of #CoderRadio, they shared the phrase "Patriot Act for the Internet" RE: #RestrictAct, which really brought the gravity of the situation home.
Had a long talk w/my spouse, and this was the last straw for us. I'm sure the other fascist moves by Republicans are playing into this as well.
So we're researching moving overseas if this passes.

Honestly, I think that the US should ban TikTok.
I also think that ban should be applied equally to every social media platform that abuses user privacy. If we're gonna go after one, why not go after them all?

Doesn't look like much work will be done today...not cuz #Friday, but cuz #RestrictAct.
Brought it up w/my partner yesterday after a little research, and agreed this would be the last straw if it passes. As of this posting, it's been introduced, so we have time to contact our rep's before it's voted on.
Now my brain is 100% occupied with researching moving overseas...good thing I don't have any high-priority tasks/items at work... 😕
