A #leavening voice. Thank you. It's too easy to make these vile acts into a #shitstorm of hate within the currently effected #communities. This whole issue revisited hate crimes of the 70s and 80s and arguing over words among the #effected groups papers the walls of the #conservative dog fucking #crustian right in all our #countries.

@tillybridges I’ve seen that someone used #RestInPride for Brianna Ghey. I think that can be for all our LGBTQIA+ siblings.

@toni #RestInPride is super appropriate as opposed to appropriative. Love it. I've been recommending it myself.

I am organising a virtual vigil for #BriannaGhey for the Scottish Highlands, because we a large area with a lot of people in remote places that can't easily get to Inverness for an in person one. I hope to get to the in person one also, so this is not an 'instead of', but rather provision for those who can't attend due to remoteness, health issues etc.

I have also made the decision to avoid the use of the terms 'say her name' and 'rest in power' for inclusiveness. I know some POC are okay with the usage of the terms, but others are not, and I don't want to alienate anyone. This should be an inclusive event.

Instead I will use the phrases and hashtags #HerNameIsBrianna and #RestInPride. I encourage others organising events or printing materials etc to do the same.
