  1. A falsifiable test for what deserves advancement: a live grounding path to real-world utility, a declared premise chain, no legitimacy from silo alone.

  2. New publication

    Atlas–Rosetta Framework | Phase 6 – Paper 6

Observer Reversal Analysis (ORA²): Auditing the Observer Before Auditing Reality

    Paper 5 asked:
    "What has actually been observed?"

    Paper 6 asks:
    "What assumptions allowed this interpretation?"

Together they provide a complementary methodology for improving interpretative transparency across disciplines by distinguishing observation from interpretation.

  3. New #AcademicYear - New #introduction

I am a researcher at #DundeeUni and interested in health-related quality of life
    #HRQoL #Psychometrics

    I teach #ResearchMethodology and #ResearchMethods with a focus on #Quantitative methods.

I worked for 7yrs as a #NightshiftEditor and I am still mulling over roles in and sense of #AcademicPublishing

This is mainly a work account, but I also post #Dundee stuff such as #DunDeCofaidh and occasional #Deutsch #Svenska #Gaidhlig (👉 pure work account at BSky)

  4. Suggestion for a #WeekendRead from discussions in my #ProfDoc module on #ResearchMethodology.

  5. The simple and obvious solution to #ResearchMethodology scandals is to shift published #Research from #PeerReview to #PeerReplicated. Boom, problem solved. Look, #Science is under serious attack right now from right-wing conservatives and evangelicals citing religious beliefs. We DO NOT need the kind of scholarly research scandals now plaguing multiple labs and universities, like Stanford. This only serves to provide ammunition to the #AntiEducation sorts making so much noise these days. Make sure accepted research and science is based on results replication, NOT Review.

  6. Wow, this is a pretty extreme example of what unintended effects survey design choices can have. In the UK Census of 2021, ““British” replaced “English” as the first response option” for a question on national identity, and.. oof.
