  1. When the library of the J.A. Dieudonné Mathematics Laboratory (LJAD – Mathematics and Interactions) in Nice becomes a key venue for supporting researchers on HAL?

✨ Delighted by the success of this first HALathon!

From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., on a continuous basis, researchers came to ask questions about their HAL accounts, their deposits, and their practices.
This morning highlighted the strong commitment of the laboratory’s members to open science.

✔️ This initiative confirms the role of the library as a place for mediation, training, and research support, closely aligned with the needs of scientific teams.

👉 A very positive experience to be repeated, as not all researchers were able to attend this first meeting. They have not been forgotten. A second HALathon is planned for the spring!

  3. "...we're sort of seeing this split between big science, if you will, really big data intensive science and the sort of more manageable demands of research data management..." -CNI Executive Director Cliff Lynch on research platforms & data in his fall 2022 opening plenary.

  4. Our #ObjectOfTheWeek is also a #NewAcquisition for our #ResearchLibrary! On Recording: A Manifesto, by musician, producer, studio co-owner, and thinker Chris Schlarb is a beautiful 50-page philosophical treatise on the art of recording that’s focused on intent instead of gear. He & his wife Adriana opened Big Ego Studios n Long Beach, California in 2015 (the same year we opened our museum), but Chris has spent a lifetime absorbing recording knowledge.

  5. @animalcognitionproject @damonyoung Don’t know ‘Elicit’ but probably more tools out there like it. Moreover, there’s a pretty big push to make Open Access research available on a growing number of institutional digital repositories. I think you’d find most major academic institutions are trying to contribute to these efforts (not least out of a reaction to the stifling effects of out-of-control publisher costs) for their faculty and associated researchers. Also, e-theses tend to be widely available. For articles, Open Access is not always the final published version (depends on publisher and institutional policy) but close. OA is a key tenet of what some of us do. #OpenAccess #AcademicLibraries

  6. It is not really open science, but I thought especially #GLAM people in the Fediverse would enjoy this conference. So this one is just for you.

The Rare Books and Manuscripts Section (RBMS) of the Association of College & #ResearchLibraries virtual conference is about "Power, Resistance, and Leadership".
