In GP, we usually need to evolve multiple subpopulations named "demes" rather than one big population as the converge on smaller population happens faster. Then we have small, infrequent migrations between subpopulations, like 5% of population of each subpopulation/deme.

@mkilby @mlevison I’m quite the digital tinkerer, and I find my attraction to plug-ins waxes and wanes. When I have more serious work to do, I focus on the #writing and #researching, and new plug-ins have little interest for me. When I’m focused on #Obsidian, I find myself spending a lot of time browsing plug-ins. So for me, “an extended and time-consuming interest in plug-ins” has become a red flag that I’m focused on the wrong things.

As a child, I took a boat to where some family members once lived. I can vividly remember that it looked like everyone just walked out? A saddle was in the porch, a purse with coupons, on the table.

I haven't been back since. I'm told there's no sign of where any homes were.

One of the problems with #researching #torcs is that you start seeing torcs where you shouldn't.

You start seeing torcs everywhere. Things that aren't torcs become torcs, things that *are* torcs leap out at you. Friends will send you pictures of things that reminded *them* of torcs....

So beware. Torcs can become a habit.

Sometimes a phrase jumps off a page and derails my whole train of thought, sending it spinning off in other directions. Very inconvenient when I'm #researching. Today's jarring word combination is "raw land", as put by a mortgage broker site.

As if the land is unformed until human intervention. Waiting in some primordial state to be shaped.

Reminded of #ecofeminist points re how the same language was used by men in power to describe women's bodies and the land (esp the "New World")

Does anyone know of a graph/concept map software where it's possible to link an individual sentence's word, which is inside a node/balloon, to another node/balloon?

Bonus points if it can link to another page/document too.

CmapTools doesn't let me do this.
