Our state-of-the-art national research infrastructure received a solid foundation for continued maintenance and development, with renewed funding from Switzerland’s State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation SERI for 2025-2028.

Infrastructural constraints are often the main hindrance to technologically advanced, cross-institutional and truly international research projects. Hopefully our meeting can, on a small scale, contribute to changing that for good!

Last C&EN story of the year from me. My heating and electricity bills have gone up, but that ain't nothing compared to some of Europe's #researchinfrastructures. As synchrotrons shut down for Xmas, some of them are extending that downtime well into the new year to try and save costs. #science may suffer as a result.
