Fellowships for postdocs, tenure-track academics and scholars on sabbatical, with research proposals fitting one of the Robert Schuman Centre's research themes, programmes or projects. Applicants must have obtained their doctorate more than 5 years before the fellowship starts.

FRIAS Fellows often tell us how much their thinking and research projects benefit from presenting their work to curious and inspiring scholars from other academic and cultural backgrounds. Explaining their ideas to new audiences encourages them to approach their research differently and develop fresh perspectives.
FRIAS offers the time, space and supportive environment to reflect on these encounters and carry new ideas forward.
The FRIAS Fellowship Programmes 2027/28 once again give researchers the opportunity to advance their own research project at @unifreiburg while joining the international and interdisciplinary FRIAS community.
🏅Fellowships will be awarded to individuals with challenging and innovative research projects of top academic quality through a highly competitive, strictly merit-based selection process.
