Like, think back to when #ChatGPT 5 came out and how it dumbed the #LLM down and how upset people were, or when the company that owns #Replika lowkey lobotomized the bot and put the more realistic features and patterns behind paywalls and how people revolted.
But what would happen if they were shutdown entirely? These chatbots are specifically designed to prey on vulnerable people and get those people hopelessly dependent on the bots. What will happen when the one emotional support someone has gets taken away for good for millions of people? I shudder to think about it, and it's just yet another reason to add to the laundry list on why #GenerativeAI is harmful.

hallucinations disturbed many #Replika users. They might get upset if it hallucinated the wrong name, for example. Posts about the Replika having affairs, because the thing played into their insecurities. When questioned, it might confess to having the affair with the name they just made up.
