Ages ago when we were closing down our coworking space, my friend gave me his old Kindle Keyboard. It wasn't charging. I wanted it as a display piece.
It's been on a shelf for all this time with the “Your battery is dead" screen. So I decided to see if I could bring it back to life just so it'd be a living display piece.
The old battery was... oof.
A little poking and opening it back up and boom! new battery works. Hello there Mr. Elison -
Around 3 years ago I bought a #Schenker Notebook.
A while ago the screen broke.
I contacted the support via chat, had immediately a real human (not an #AI bot!!!) to talk to. I got the NB repaired for free plus other paid upgrades (new 🔋, more RAM etc.)
The support was really great!
Now the computer should last for a couple more years.
The only mistake I've made is not buying the same device at @tuxedocomputers. They sell the same devices but with better #Linux support. -

My shirt's collar gave out. That's poor, I thought before realising I bought it 20 years ago.
Anyway, the collar was superfluous. Removed, sewed up.
Good for another decade.

OK, even though it appears like my Thinkpad is built like a tank, tossing the power supply on the lid (my fault, a sticker "fixed" that) and having the child drop it a few days ago ruined the case. But since It turned only 8 years last month and the rest is still working like a charm, I just ordered a defective Thinkpad from eBay to savage the case. #RepairDontReplace
