*** Rented in Finland (2024) ***
(Viki 10 1:30 eps)[!!CW!! Synopsis & non-spoilery review.]
"Reality" - 4 actors in Finland staying in various rented rooms. The 1st place doesn't have electricity or running water & only 1 actor knows how to cook. Although Cha did get a couple of lessons from mom beforehand.
These guys have great chemistry & many funny moments. They learn a lot about appreciating nature & conveniences.
Not fond of the "he's so handsome" narrative about Cha. That's not what the show is about. It felt like he had the responsibility for the whole show on his shoulders at times. The other actors were also very talented & each brought a unique take on situations. I felt this diminished them slightly.
Loved watching them learn to shop & cook, fish, make a fire, pitch a tent, & take a sauna. It's a very relaxing watch & now I want to go to Finland!

@whoosh I loved this #kShow! So hilarious ๐คฃ
Their real personalities are at the opposite spectrum of the character they interpret. This alone is proof of their acting talent. It is particularly true for #ChaEunWoo, #LeeJeHoon and #KwakDongYeon.
One thing I found ridiculous is the #Kopiko PPL. Eun-woo had to steal freshly brewed coffee from DongYeon the second day but suddenly those candies appear ๐คฃ
Also I suspect Eun-woo always getting comfortable sleeping beds was staged.

Yes! Their personalities really surprised me. Based on the characters I've seen them play, I thought Dong Yeon would be the prankster. Unexpectedly, Cha was a twerp - made me love him even more (I come from a family of twerps).
Lee Je Hoon has his own company & plays such competent characters, that I was surprised by his lack of basic living skills. I haven't seen Dong Hwi in much (besides Reply 1988), but I enjoyed his humor very much.

I started watching "Rented in Finland." Aside from Friendification & a few episodes of "Jinny's Kitchen" (because I'm a Wooga squad fan) I haven't watched any other Korean reality show. I *despise* US reality TV.
I like all the cast members, Lee Je Hoon, Cha Eun Woo, Lee Dong Hwi, & Kwak Dong Yeon, but decided to watch now because I only have a few episodes of "The Art of Negotiation" left. Lee Je Hoon is the ML there & his acting is phenomenal because the "real" him on "Rented" is NOTHING like his character - ใ ใ ใ ใ ใ ใ .
I have laughed so hard that I cried during the last couple of episodes I've watched. This is sweet, endearing, funny, philosophical & is meant to provide the members with opportunities for growth instead of constantly & ferociously pitting them against each other. Although, they have competed for sleeping arrangements, but they are very good sports about it.
I'm super impressed with them all. Korea does yet another genre really well!

@QueenOfCoffee @whoosh It's so good! Even my husband, who isn't so interested in k-contents as I am, tags along for #rentedinfinland

I finished #WhenThePhoneRings yesterday and it's probably the worst last episode in #kdrama history. A well deserved WTF ๐ถโ๐ซ๏ธ๐
Currently watching:

It's so hard to wait for new episodes! It's the story of a k-pop producer who gets fired without severance pay and an 18 yo trainee whose contract gets revoked.

A #kshow with Cha Eun-woo (True Beauty, Astro), Kwak Dong-hyeon (Queen Of Tears), Lee Dong-hwi (Reply 1988) and Lee Jee-hon (producer).1/2
