I went on a short hike today -- it's been a while and I needed it. I saw a coyote on the trail. Coyotes are not rare at all here, but I'd never encountered one while hiking, so it was interesting. He was very worried about the human taking photos of him. No roadrunners were found.

A friend and I had lunch at a tiny restaurant we didn't even know existed. This is the backyard patio we were seated in... It was quiet, the food was excellent and the server was just the sweetest. We are trying to get out periodically, to enjoy things, and decompress. Lives are stressful these days, but visiting lovely places definitely helps.

A local, woman-owned small business that produces my favorite soap just announced that she's closing the business. I instantly ran to another woman-owned shop that sells the soap, and bought 80% of what they had (compelled to leave some for other fans). Very sad but I'm sure she has other plans. Whatever it is, I'm here for it.
