Made some actual progress today. My first 4 #mc4 #solar cable #crimps and my first 4 ferrule crimps.
All these boxes are bolted on. Got some different sized crimp lugs coming tomorrow for the #Renogy Rover boxes.
Should be able to get these connected to 6 solar panels tomorrow (unless we focus on the ac side of things which also needs doing on a dry day). -

Oh wow. So the numbers weren't going up because that charge controller was a piece of trash. Apparently I plugged the Renogy back in. It's hitting numbers I've never seen before. It's not even hot. This is what it's supposed to do.
Run multiple #Renogy charge controllers linked together if you need more. Just don't buy anything else. You're going to catch on fire apparently. 👍 -
Also, I'm just going to stay with #Renogy from now on. Their charge controller does not catch fire. 10 out of 10 would apparently purchase again.

Well that was some storm last night. And there are masses of power cuts. And here I sit, doing the laundry on the solar system. This is why I don't go grid tied.

Could try a more “native” path of https://www.bimblesolar.com/ but not as simple, though good if doing the solar panels as well.
The batteries are simple: https://uk.renogy.com/core-12v-24v-48v-200ah-deep-cycle-lithium-iron-phosphate-battery This could be done in a quick simple solar only way, maybe using the current #MPPT charge controller if it can be set for #LiFePO4 or if the charge controller needs replacing we could try for a much more complex dual engine and solar path: https://uk.renogy.com/dcc50s-12v-50a-dc-dc-on-board-battery-charger-with-mppt-new-version I did try and implement this more complex path 2 years ago, and it did not work, but with 2 years of upgrades it likely works OK now.
Then is a simply wiring and testing process, a bit of time, am happy to assist for mate’s rates as it’s a good thing to document for #DIY offgrid culture.

Langer Rede kurzer Sinn: Ein #Wemos #D1Mini kann auch "halb kaputt gehen".
Neuen ESP/D1Mini mit der Firmware geflasht und eingesetzt, läuft wieder.

I witnessed a new Indoor Solar charge rate record today with my 80 watt Renogy panel behind a window: over 50 watts!!
That's awesome to see, since my output has been lacking since the cold cloudy weather arrived.
I'm not able to change the angle of my panel, but I'm pleased to learn the sun moves closer to my sweet spot in the colder months. 👍 #Solar #Renogy

A thread 🧵 for my "Indoor Solar" project.
My apartment lacks a balcony, but I couldn't wait to start experimenting with solar panels. I "sandwiched" an 80 watt Renogy (12V) panel between 2 paynes of a glass window, and connected it to a Bluetti EB3A. The window in question is often covered due to the extremely bright sun.
At best, during a sunny day I can get 30-35 watts of power generation, or over 40% of the panel's rating. IMO that's really good. 😎🌞
