I heard the hot new #Pokemon game is out so I've jumped on that bandwagon. This is what y'all were talking about, right? 👀
(Yes okay sorry this is a bit, I am using my #Miyoo to play through Pokemon Fool's Gold, a #romhack of Pokemon Crystal with alternate forms/types for all 251 1st and 2nd gen!)

Ideologically I hate this because it is everything I hate about the direction Animal Crossing games have gone in (grinding to fill up meters and checking stuff off a list, and making every last inch of my town Instagrammable) but man... it's kinda soothing?? It is not GOOD and I will never recommend this to anyone, but like. it got me to stop checking socmed and the news all day, so that's gotta count for something

Also also, what are bells even for? I have like a billion bells but nothing to spend them on since everything uses leaf stones, which is the old freemium currency, and how I KNOW FOR SURE I would have hated it as a F2P game LOL 😭 The complete game is mindless because you're just pushing buttons to get the dopamine, when the game was ORIGINALLY about waiting hours/days between each button press to get you to pay... gross

Also if you hated the way characters basically have no personality in the Switch game and are unbearably saccharine and pleasant, then don't play this bc it's WAY more pronounced here 😔 Every conversation and interaction is 100% transactional, exchanging goods to make meters fill up to get confetti raining down around you. It sure is uhhh. a mobile game

I'm also still playing AC:PCC. I think this game would have driven me absolutely up the walls when it was still a freemium game, but as it is now it's... all the satisfaction of checking stuff off a list with confetti raining down and an audience of cute animals applauding you for another job well done. Is that fun? Does that make it a game? It's pretty mindless but also weirdly satisfying, so, y'know,,,

Okay I didn't realize that taking screenshots of Rusty's Retirement would have all that black space at the top (in the game, it's transparent and you're supposed to be able to have something on in the background while you play)
