  1. ‪Three meals with Jesus. Okay, a 1520s German painted wood sculpture with detailed table settings, but it's still quite cool. Fellow reenactors, look how brown all the food is!

  4. On Saturday we performed Renaissance theatrical art in Columbus. On Sunday we went to view Renaissance painted art in Columbus!

After our performance of "Arlecchino, Emperor on the Moon", one of our Players of the Patchwork suggested we attend a talk at the Columbus Museum of Art the following day on the restoration of "Hercules and Omphale" by the amazing 17th Century painter Artemisia Gentileschi, one of the few recognized woman masters of the art for the period.

The story of the painting is also fascinating, previously unknown to the world at large until being damaged in the 2020 Beirut explosion but being restore after years of dedicated effort by the Getty Museum.

We've explored works by Gentileschi and other artists for inspiration in commedia dell'arte!

  11. One of the arts in my cube. Makes me smile daily. Picked up this print at a convention (likely PAX, ECCC, SakuraCon, or GeekGirlCon, I don't recall which) around 2018. It's a good art.

  16. Went to the Boston WordPress meetup yesterday. Was inspired by the visuals in the presentation, particularly this renaissance art of moon phases.

Deep dive produced this wonderfully informative read:

"Renaissance and the Formation of the Scientific Tradition: Incredible Optics and a New Cosmology"

  21. The engraving "Geometria" masterfully embodies the harmony of intellectual pursuits and divine inspiration. A pregnant figure gracefully draws geometric forms in the sky, elevating the liberal arts to celestial heights. How do you interpret this blend of knowledge and femininity?
