Anyone have any comments or concerns about this IETF Draft that discusses using #IPv6 addresses as a way to encrypt Remote ID session data? I think some of the data sent from Remote ID would be formatted as IPv6 addresses and by doing a reverse lookup of that address, you can verify the encryption, or something like that.
I need to read this document a couple more times before I really understand it. But I am curious what others think.

The US Government Accountability Office (GAO) recently released a report on Remote ID. I have only had a chance to skim it so far, but it looks like they are making some recommendations to the FAA to make remote ID more useful to law enforcement.

Not sure when this actually happened, but the FAA now shows FRIA locations on the UAS Facilities Map.
So if you are looking for all the locations you can fly a drone/model aircraft in the US without needing a remote ID module, you can see them on the map now.

Well, it looks like it's time for me to play around with Remote ID now that my Flite Test EZ ID module has arrived.
I think I'll also give remote ID spoofing, and remote ID detection a go too while I'm at it.

If you think the FAA has really delayed #remoteID until March 2024, think again.

Want to have an event to fly drones without Remote ID? Apparently you can start the process to get a temporary event FRIA by sending the #FAA an email at [email protected]
This would be what you would use to create an #fpv race event etc. where you would want to fly drones that don't have remote ID at a location where a FRIA does not currently exist.
