  1. Bin gestern nach längerer Zeit wieder über die MTV Unplugged von a-ha aus 2017 gestolpert aaand down the rabbithole… 😳😭💕🎶

    youtu.be/QchhC4yhdhc?is=6ShqMp

Was für eine wunderschöne, traurige Version… Kann nicht fassen, dass dieses Lied jetzt schon 40 - in Worten: VIERZIG! - Jahre auf dem Buckel hat. Wo ist die Zeit hin?

  3. Call it materialistic, but I remember when my Muppet Central friends and I would all rush online on Christmas afternoon to talk about the Muppet gifts and some of the other stuff we got. I wish I had people to do that with now. My aunt did have some of my pictures from Atlanta made into Christmas ornaments that were really cool! I also got some nice Wandering Inn stuff. And all the blankets and socks we collectively got, we joked that it was like we lived in Alask! #Christmas #Reminiscing

  5. And they could never pick the right colors with the eye Lego has. My brother and I were in looking over our old Lego bricks, and were marveling at their color choices. Not over-saturated, not under-saturated either, just tastefully perfect.

That said, I wish Lego wouldn't just make up random bricks like Chewbacca Head Brick etc. to fit their sets.

Given, this was a long time ago (well, for me, in my twenties).

  6. I saw a post about the 20th anniversary of hurricane Katrina.. Hard to believe.. I was in Beaumont a few hours down the coast and got hammered and then Rita. Seems like just a few years ago.. funny how time passes when you get older

  8. just #reminiscing about the good ole days before #melbourne was over-gentrified right out if my price range (i feel like an exile, some times)

#TheMonthly (an independent publication) has a catch-up with #SophieLee (Tracy Kerrigan in #TheCastle, Tania in #Muriel’sWedding)… i knew she retreated to a world of mohterhood and manuscripts, but it seems she’s now living in London. a link to the short article is below, if you are inteested
    ——-
reminiscing mainly cos i always thought Sophie Lee was under-rated, under-used, typecast and cursed perhaps by her looks. saw her at #LaMama one night in 1994 in a play called Tanya and Kit. i used to see lots and lots of small productions dirt cheap — even bad shows are interesting if they are live, cos there is something magical about live theatre, and maybe the small space adds to it?
anyway, Tanya and Kit was spellbinding.

Tanya and Kit by Harry Cripps, La Mama, REVIEW, 7 May 1994
    THEATRE
At La Mama, until June 1994
Reviewer: Kate Herbert around 7 May 1994
This review was published in The Melbourne Times after 7 May 1994

Two women meet in an apartment and both believe they live there. They become intimates, familiars, inseparable. Harry Cripps' Pintersque script is interesting, involving and funny. It comes to life with the two actors, Sarah Chadwick and Sophie Lee who have a great rapport on stage.

Chadwick plays Tanya, a "sleek and dangerous" woman with an unspecified executive position. Her performance is masterly, her presence magnetic, her timing and delivery impeccable. Lee has a charming ingenuousness as Kit.

This is a quirky play which works on many levels although it incorporates some improbable left-field plot elements.

  10. @Lino_JR #Reminiscing, #CoolChange And even #ThatGuy with the replacement lead vocalist wasn't a bad song. I think that was the name of that song.

  12. @imalcolm That's when I would pick the song I liked the least, and sacrificed it so I could still use a C60 to get the good parts of the album on there! #reminiscing

  16. Good morning. 🍂🍂🍂

    14 March 2024

Hmmm ... wasn't I here yesterday morning doing pretty much the same thing? The problem with my timing is I start trying to write stuff when my head is still trying to wake up. It is better than plopping down in front of the TV, and it keeps me busy. I usually try to think back to the 60s and 70s and find thing unique about that era to reminisce about or talk about my dogs. I once wore bellbottom trousers, a wide collared shirt, and low platform shoes ;), when I wasn't wearing a uniform. I tried doing the hustle, but I didn't have the patience to learn how ... not the Kung Fu Hustle which is the title of a dramatic movie 😂.

  18. #Archive dive and #reminiscing:
Opera founder Jon Stephenson von Tetzchner, now head of #Fediverse Hero #Vivaldi, at the press conference when the #Opera browser was launched in Oslo in the mid-1990s. I used one of the earlier digital cameras for this shot, can't remember which.

  20. #Archive dive and #reminiscing:
Strange things happen. Almost 30 years ago I did two photo reports during the same week, but ended up putting the same film back into the camera. Never shown before:
The man with the books is psychologist and author Rune Amundsen. The man with the brushes is painter Per Remfeldt, best known as prominent curator and art mediator over several decades in #Norway.

Most of my early #Archive #Photos, like the one above, was done with this #Praktica from early 1960s. Not my first camera, but my first with professional quality. Surely bought on the advice of my uncle, trained professional photographer with journeyman certificate («svennebrev») and at the time Chief Photographer at the NTB news agency in Oslo. This photo taken now in raw format DNG with my iPhone.

  24. #Archive dive and #reminiscing: Taken in early 1965 while we were docked in Japan, probably Kobe. When docked local craftsmen would come on board with their services. This time the shoemaker is at work. The boss on deck, "Båsen", upright behind him at the door. The lumberman sits closest and then two sailors. I myself was still a deck boy after half a year on board.

  26. #Archive diving and #reminiscing: Taken in the winter of 1965/66 in the Guggenheim Museum in New York. Old friend Robert Crumb studies Sick Girl by Edv. Munch. Half frame Canon camera. Not completely free of dirt on the slide film recently scanned.

  27. Christmas tree ornaments from my childhood, right now on my adulthood tree:

When I was a kid, I wanted to be a firefighter when I grew up.

An ornament made in elementary school out of Elmer's glue, pasta, dried beans and glitter is a bit worse for wear.

When I was 12, I was the fastest Rubik's Cube solver in the entire 7th grade.

When I was a kid, I was much cuter than I am now.

  28. Way back in the day, I worked in #Canada's 2nd-largest shopping mall.

The parking lot stretched like paved football fields in every direction. Yet in #December it was always full.

I always drove to the doors, rolled down my window, and offered a ride to a stranger heading to their car. Keen to avoid the freezing cold and snow, they gladly accepted.

    I wonder:
    - Is the parking lot still full?
    - Is there still so much snow?
    - Would people freak out and start TikToking me instead?

  29. Years ago I walked every day after work in a large park (South Park in Pittsburgh). There was a circuit path that wound its way through trees and many walkers/runners used it.

I paced my walk from repeating in my head the theme song from “Leave It to Beaver” (aka “The Toy Parade” by Melvyn Leonard). One day a fellow walker approached me and said he liked my pace. He was probably hitting on me but I took him literally, thanked him, and continued on.

  30. I slept with #JohnMastodon's girlfriend back in 1993, met them at a soc.bi munch and we made a zine about the riot grrrls of Usenet. The Internet was a smaller world back then! I like to think our wild side and feminist philosophies had a good influence on John Mastodon even if we got left out of most of the histories #reminiscing #GenX
