Some of you here may have seen this last year, but for those who missed it, this is my 9/11 story. More specifically, it's the story I wrote in 2015, looking back on how the ripples of 9/11 reached me in New Hampshire a short while after the event.
My account will likely seem hard to believe, but I promise it is a true story. It seems unreal now even to me, and I lived it. It surely must be hard for others to believe. I've tried to tell it in an entertaining fashion, but that may contribute further to a sense of unreality. Don't let it.
Really it's just a cautionary tale with a serious message that is a part of the 9/11 experience we need to not forget.

Ich weiß noch, ich war im Büro, Kollegin rief aus dem Urlaub an, wollte wissen, ob der Chef in NY sei, der hatte dort Nähe WTC ne Wohnung. War er nicht, saß im Nachbarbüro. Kollegin nur "Mach Fernsehen an, siehs dir an!!!" und aufgelegt.
Chef und ich standen dann vor dem TV in seinem Büro und schauten zu, wie die Türme zusammenstürzten. Das war so surreal und schrecklich, ich finde bis heute keine Worte dafür.
