Lately I’ve been having the same problem across different #radio apps, at different scales: buffering.
Certain stations get stuck very often and it’s extremely distracting and annoying.

However, good old #VLC starts playing them almost instantly!
Sadly, the UI is ugly as sin (even with skins) and it lacks some key features to be a full replacement.

I wonder how difficult would it be to write my own player with radio-browser.info and libVLC in the backend 🤔

Every programmer who swears by the "don't reinvent the wheel" mantra should go ahead and put bicycle wheels on their car, see how that turns out. Reinventing the wheel is how you make your software efficient and, maybe even more importantly, it's how you learn. It's also lots of fun, which I believe is absolutely crucial in any creative line of work, which programming is.
