Each year, about 5,000 reindeer migrate 300 kilometers from Mageroya in Finnmark, Norway, to winter grazing grounds near Karasjok by the Finnish border. Guided by Sami herders, they cross mountains, fjords & waterways. In winter, they survive by digging through snow to reach lichen, making their grazing grounds essential for survival.
