Knowledge of the history of the land is important!

Rubha Phoil has been inhabited by people, likely, for many thousands of year. We can see traces they left behind the landscape.

We can learn so much from them. How they harvested water, how much fitter they were than modern humans, where they build their shelters, how much they were connected with the sea...

So we have installed a hydroponic system in the polytunnel.

Using plants, bacteria and clay pebbles as a natural filtration system, our garden produces fish and vegetables on autopilot. No more need to farm fish or salmon in the sea. It can be done on land without causing pollution.

It's funny how nature seems to provide the best solutions. How adding simple technology in harmony with nature, can add so much value for humans too.
