Windows 11 gaslit me with ghost icons. Clearing icon cache did nothing. SFC and DISM? A joke, like always.
Finally found the culprit: a 10-year-old registry from "shellex". Banished the ghosts with a simple rename.

An dieser Stelle sollte ich vielleicht mal 1 Schritt zurücktreten und resümieren, was passiert ist. Die Beiträge waren teils recht kleinteilig, obwohl ich nur das wichtigste notiert habe. Tatsächlich war das eine umfangreiche Analyse mit #winmerge #notepad++ #regedit #gpu-z #hwinfo #Sandboxie #sysinternals #DependencyWalker, #archiveorg unter Mithilfe von #ChatGPT und #perplexity Die beiden erzählen leider auch Mist und man muss genau hinschauen, aber ohne sie wäre das kaum machbar gewesen

Die falschen Registry Einträge habe ich mit #regedit korrigiert:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Intel\MediaSDK\Dispatch\iKBL_5916]
"DeviceID"=dword:00005916
"VendorID"=dword:00008086
"APIVersion"=dword:00000108
"Merit"=dword:08000015
"Path"="C:\\Program Files\\Intel\\Media SDK\\libmfxhw32.dll"und analog mit 64. Die #libmfxhw werden so verwendet, wie Intel sich das mit #QSV damals vorgestellt hat. Verifiziert mit #ffmpeg 4.Aug.2021 von ottverse. Für moderne Zwecke ist das irrelevant

It makes about 10 years that I’ve been using #virtualbox and while it works great, having to install proprietary plugins or addons is not ideal. Specially on Arch where they come from the #AUR
So I’m very happy to share that I discovered #gnomeboxes by accident, because it was installed by default on #fedora
Great GNU/Linux support, and even with some minor #regedit , WinCrap 11 support . Not bad, I have found a replacement :)
