  1. A couple of critters from around camp.

The camp Kookaburras know about people and hang around in the hopes of stealing a sausage or something.

And this morning, I found this female Red-necked Wallaby (with joey in pouch).

  5. It's mostly overcast today, so the Red-necked Wallabies are out grazing during the day.

The first one was just across the road from where we are staying, the other three further down the road.

UPDATE: I've since been told the two bottom wallabies are Black-Striped Wallabies. (they have a black stripe on their back and the red fur extends to the arms)

  10. A lot fewer wallabies hanging around at the moment. Might be because it is summer, since we usually visit the Bunya Mountains in winter, but there are still a few about.

This is a Red-necked Wallaby. It stands about 1m tall at most.

  15. Wallaby (Wild Safari Wildlife by Safari Ltd.)

The Safari Ltd. wallaby was released in 2016 and sculpted by Doug Watson. Although currently available on Safari’s website it has been perpetually on sale for some time, which likely means it has been retired and is being cleared out. Let’s take a closer look at it and see if it’s worth grabbing before it’s gone.

The first order of the day is identifying it, since Safari only markets […]

  30. Wobber cobber.

See her fat belly? That's where the joey we have taken to calling "Boinger" is in hiding. She and the joey spend a lot of their time near the house.

  35. This morning, I looked out the back door, and spied a mother and older joey pair of Red-necked Wallabies in the backyard (yes, we need to mow).

The mother is the one standing up as far as I can tell, with the Joey near the ferns.
