Upgrading #debian underneath #nextcloud and #redmine has been tricky in past, but this time it was relatively easy.
I had redmine, nextcloud, apache and slapd running on this machine. Slapd didn't need any changes, apache only changing php-fpm version.
I had noting important in /usr/local/bin so I could just "chgrp redmine /usr/local/bin/ ; chmod g+w /usr/local/bin/" to let bundle create some scripts there.

- apt --purge autoremove
- a2disconf php8.2-fpm

I've been using #Redmine for a while now and it's been a solid choice. It's highly customizable and has a lot of plugins available. If you're looking for something more modern, Taiga is a great alternative with a sleek interface and good collaboration features. I've also heard good things about WeKan for its simplicity and ease of use. Would love to hear about your experiences too! 😊 -

Not a fan of #Redmine, though obviously my experience is limited to whatever version #Ceph has deployed.
- Very poor markdown support,
inline code blocksjust don't render at all. - Also, if multiple multiline code blocks are present, it gets confused and chunks it up randomly and just gives up on rendering half way through.
- Also, the
Previewonly shows you your text in an immutable field without any rendering, great! - And to top it all off, the
Editaction available on each individual comment on the issue is actually an issue level edit, not a comment level edit. So previous comments and the top level description are immutable, and trying to "edit" actually just allows you to wiggle top level tags and add a new comment at the same time!
This isn't just me preferring the way GitHub does it, because I'm pretty sure GitHub models after older trackers I've used in the past just fine. Redmine is just "different" here I imagine due to legacy debt from a different world than I'm used to.

It might not be a bug or data corruption if your parent and child (subtask) issues are not displayed in a tree-like view in Redmine.
The first sorting rule needs to be set to "Parent task", "Ascending".

Anyone ever migrate a #Redmine instance before?
There are some misc guides out there and it seems straightforward-ish but would love to hear from #AskFedi on personal experiences with doing so, any tricks/tips/findings/links to guides that helped, etc.Actually first app I spun up, looking to move away from EOL Turnkey linux (debian 11) and onto just a plain debian install. Currently only redmine 5.0 too. Would also like to convert from mysql to postgresql. Unsure of best order of operations.

Progress made on figuring out the #Parabola #Redmine lockups. Sometimes when doing `sub process expansion`, rb_f_backquote gets stuck in waitpid_wait, even though the process has exited and is now a zombie. So then that worker process stops being able to do work. Eventually all #uWSGI's workers have this happen, and all requests become 504s. Eventually the buffer of connections fills up, and these turn into 502s. Not sure if this is the same as https://github.com/unbit/uwsgi/issues/2521 . This is with #Ruby 2.7.8

Hi all! My name is Jeff, and I'm #softwareDeveloper and #maker in the process of relocating to #NewZealand.
My journey through social media started with Bulletin Board Systems (#BBS) & #IRC, through LiveJournal, to Facebook, an enjoyable stint in G+, back to Facebook, and now Mastodon. Ironically I never really got into Twitter, which I understand Mastadon aims to replace.
In my career I've worked on incredibly interesting projects like full scale helicopter simulators, small drone (#sUAS) control systems, and signal jamming technologies. I've worked with #C++ , #CSharp, #Python, #LabView.
But what I'm most proud of has been my time volunteering for a local charity I helped found, #MakersLocal256. This #makerspace was the first in #Alabama, has been around for over 15 years, and has survived on a "pay what you can" system. Our goal was and is to make available tools and technologies to those who either can afford it better together, or simply don't have the space for something like a gigantic #laserCutter. I've learned and taught equipment there such as #3DPrinters, #soldering, #embedded projects, #IoT, #lathes, #welding, #leatherWorking, #HamRadio and #cyberSecurity.
I've served #ML256 as both their Treasurer using systems like #GnuCash, and as a #systemsAdministrator using technologies including #Proxmox, #VMWare, #Redmine, #Owncloud, #ZoneMinder
As a hobbyist I run my own #homelab including this instance of Mastadon, #Plex, #mqtt, #proxmoxBE
My other hobbies include #cooking, with a focus on #sousVide and #cajun food, collecting #puzzleBoxes .
I consume large amounts of #Sci-Fi television, #anime, and have a weakness for paranormal teenage drama series like #vampireDiaries and now some soul rotting show called #FateWinxSaga. They're just so awful I can't stop watching.In my youth I attended a #boardingSchool called #ASMS before Dumbledore made them cool. We had a cheerleading team for our chess team, it was baller. Our headmaster was from #NewZealand, and we plan to catch up once we get settled in.
My wife of eight years and I met in college, and has been my best friend, travel companion, taste tester, and cheerleader. She's an amazing #cosplay artist from Tennessee who has crafted #yukatas #kimonos, outfits from #animes, and so much more.
Her Londo Mallari from #Babylon5 is still the highest rated post of all time in r/Babylon5.As her handler I end up going to many of her competitions and events, our favorite being #DragonCon . As a reward for being her personal slave, I earn cosplay points, which I save up and cash in on requests. The most memorable is when I asked to be a #sandworm from #Dune. She built a 14 meter worm in the style of a Chinese dragon. It takes eight people to pilot, has been in three parades, two with Kevin J. Anderson leading our path. She carries the 16 kilogram head, with me as her second in line. It's been featured in #MakeMagazine and has been used for a movie premier at a local theatre.
Well, that's me :) I don't intend on writing posts this long going forward, and honestly this felt like writing a CV. But hell, if you're gunna do, do it up.

Hi all! My name is Jeff, and I'm #softwareDeveloper and #maker in the process of relocating to #NewZealand.
My journey through social media started with Bulletin Board Systems (#BBS) & #IRC, through LiveJournal, to Facebook, an enjoyable stint in G+, back to Facebook, and now Mastodon. Ironically I never really got into Twitter, which I understand Mastadon aims to replace.
In my career I've worked on incredibly interesting projects like full scale helicopter simulators, small drone (#sUAS) control systems, and signal jamming technologies. I've worked with #C++ , #CSharp, #Python, #LabView.
But what I'm most proud of has been my time volunteering for a local charity I helped found, #MakersLocal256. This #makerspace was the first in #Alabama, has been around for over 15 years, and has survived on a "pay what you can" system. Our goal was and is to make available tools and technologies to those who either can afford it better together, or simply don't have the space for something like a gigantic #laserCutter. I've learned and taught equipment there such as #3DPrinters, #soldering, #embedded projects, #IoT, #lathes, #welding, #leatherWorking, #HamRadio and #cyberSecurity.
I've served #ML256 as both their Treasurer using systems like #GnuCash, and as a #systemsAdministrator using technologies including #Proxmox, #VMWare, #Redmine, #Owncloud, #ZoneMinder
As a hobbyist I run my own #homelab including this instance of Mastadon, #Plex, #mqtt, #proxmoxBE
My other hobbies include #cooking, with a focus on #sousVide and #cajun food, collecting #puzzleBoxes .
I consume large amounts of #Sci-Fi television, #anime, and have a weakness for paranormal teenage drama series like #vampireDiaries and now some soul rotting show called #FateWinxSaga. They're just so awful I can't stop watching.In my youth I attended a #boardingSchool called #ASMS before Dumbledore made them cool. We had a cheerleading team for our chess team, it was baller. Our headmaster was from #NewZealand, and we plan to catch up once we get settled in.
My wife of eight years and I met in college, and has been my best friend, travel companion, taste tester, and cheerleader. She's an amazing #cosplay artist from Tennessee who has crafted #yukatas #kimonos, outfits from #animes, and so much more.
Her Londo Mallari from #Babylon5 is still the highest rated post of all time in r/Babylon5.As her handler I end up going to many of her competitions and events, our favorite being #DragonCon . As a reward for being her personal slave, I earn cosplay points, which I save up and cash in on requests. The most memorable is when I asked to be a #sandworm from #Dune. She built a 14 meter worm in the style of a Chinese dragon. It takes eight people to pilot, has been in three parades, two with Kevin J. Anderson leading our path.
