  1. Many disagreements don’t persist because people are irrational or uninformed. They persist because the parties involved are not standing on the same conceptual ground.

New essay on ontological incommensurability, moral disagreement, and why convergence is sometimes the wrong expectation.

  4. That #redCard was totally justified and #Hendrich has no-one to blame but herself! This was such an unnecessary thing to do. I’m honestly upset. 🤬

Needs hashtags. Thousands follow hashtags. Nothing on Mastodon puts your post into eyes. Only your followers see your posts.

Add hashtags, follow hashtags (ask how right now right here).

Engagement is passive elsewhere because you trade convenience for corporate control of engagement.

Engagement on Mastodon is ACTIVE, you direct, you control.

  6. New rule, from the intracranial collision of world #football/#soccer rules and the #Westminster parliamentary system I just experienced.

If your elected head of state is found by a judge to have violated your country's constitution (or other highest legal authority for your country), then he or she gets a yellow card.

If they do it again, it's red card time. You're out, now, do not pass go, do not collect $200, do not stand for election again. Your government falls as an implicit loss of confidence and a snap election is held.

Hopefully the next one colours within the lines.

  7. Dumb play by #trossard and it deserved a #YellowCard for sure, but he didn't deserve the first one. The ref should have started thinking about it earlier if he was going to start handing out cards... But that #RedCard just proves he's lost control of the match.
