Ugh.
Dylan Smith walked the 1st batter in the bottom of the 9th, so the Giants brought in Sam Hentges to close. He recorded 1 out, allowing the inherited runner to score, plus 2 of his own.
1. The Giants have no closer. It has cost them dearly this season.
2. Did Tugboat sink?
Red Sox 3, Giants 2, final.

With 2 outs and 2 on, Wilson Contreras hit his 26th HR of the year, a blast to LF. 3-1 Red Sox.

Pitching change. Reiver Sanmartin is in. On his 5th pitch, he induced a ground-out.

With no score in the game, in the top of the 3rd, with 2 outs and 2 on, the Giants' Bryce Eldridge singled home Christian Koss from 2nd to drive in the 1st run of the game.
Jung Hoo Lee subsequently drew a walk to load the bases for Osleivis Basabe, who did his best to hit a grand slam to deep CF, but missed it.

Underway at Fenway with a strikeout for #RedSox Sonny Gray vs Rafael Devers!

It's Logan Webb vs Sonny Gray today at 4:10 PT. As they both have good records - Sonny is having a great season for Boston - and this is baseball, it will probably be an 11-10 squeaker.

Programming Note: For me, fans, it's a vacation break now before the run to the #RedSox finish line starts next month. I'll be around the next couple weeks, but there won't be another RSNStats report until next month.
Enjoy the games!

You can't win them all, no doubt, but in a game that looked good, then didn't, #RedSox clawed their way back into it with a dramatic and clutch home run for Mickey Gasper. That momentum felt like it would carry them to a victory, but tonight the pen couldn't hold it.
