Had my jabs for an upcoming holiday to India. 2 in left arm, 1 in the right. Proper sore now… so glad I opted to shoot yesterday and not tonight. Barely able to lift my glass of Merlot! #Archery #RecurveArcher #India #Vaccinations #Travel

New limbs, new “candy cane” string, new quiver and extra arrows. Now pulling 29lb. Outdoor season starts afresh… bring on that Bowman classification. Oh, and an outdoor competition booked. #archery #RecurveArcher #ArcheryGB

Following a nineteen year gap… I’ve been shooting now for just over a year. Half a dozen badges, three county championship competitions, two club records and zero injuries (shoulder). I think I can safely say “I am an archer”! #Archery #RecurveArcher #ArcheryGB

After a five week break and a new cordovan tab face… everything (mostly me!) was slightly out of sync. But at the end of today’s session things were improving… slowly. #Archery #RecurveArcher #ArcheryGB

3rd archery comp today. Another county championship - Leicestershire & Rutland. Awful score. As we were from out of county we were classed as visitors. My daughter won gold in the Ladies. I got 2nd in the gents. 50+. No medal. There was only 2 of us 😂… that’s it now for me as far as indoor competitions go. Going back to basics & focus purely on technique. Got to say I really enjoyed competing. Met some lovely people too. #Archer #RecurveArcher #ArcheryGB #ArcheryCompetition

So… competed again today. After Fridays disappointment I wasn’t expecting much. I did improve slightly and didn’t come last! Bonus. I did figure out a couple of things that I can work on. What I didn’t know (my daughter organised everything) was that it was the Nottinghamshire County Championship. Best news was my daughter won the ladies recurve. She’s an indoor county champion! #Archery #RecurveArchery #ArcheryGB #Archer #RecurveArcher #Competition

Couldn’t shoot for shit tonight. My 2nd lowest score for a #Portsmouth. I’m competing on Sunday. Doesn’t bode well… #Archery #ArcheryGB #RecurveArchery #RecurveArcher

So, having struggled with sizing with my Fivics and then AAE Cavalier tabs I decided to get this in XL so I could butcher (cut/transform/glue) it to find the perfect dimensions. Only £12.50 so well worth a punt. #Archer #Archery #RecurveArcher #ArcheryGB

Oh, the frustration of #Archery - shoot a #PB, them compete in a status event and drop 70 points (yeah, I know!) then back to the club for another PB. Made a small adjustment to the knocking point… worked wonders.

2 more scores like this and it’s IB3 for me!

Haven’t shot since November 30th due to injury. Felt good to be back. And a new Portsmouth PB of 486. #Archery #RecurveArcher #RecurveArchery #Portsmouth #PB

It was cold in the hall today and wasn’t feeling it. But 480 was very, very acceptable. No blacks. Now to eliminate some of those blues! Once again end 5 let me down 🤷‍♂️ #RecurveArcher #RecurveArchery #Archery #ArcheryGB #PortsmouthRound

Four weeks since I last shot. Portsmouth 472. Damn that 36 point end… still, happy with that. Shot with my daughter - she got a PB and club record 547. In the end pictured I managed to remove one of her nocks 🫣 Good tight groupings though! #Archery #RecurveArcher #RecurveArchery #ArcheryGB #PortsmouthRound

Shot a 465 this afternoon. Lower than hoped but I haven’t shot for a few weeks. Decided to move targets after my boss buddy Ruth bagged a #RobinHood - it was getting a bit crowded in there! #Archery #RecurveArchery #RecurveArcher #ArcheryGB #PortsmouthRound #ArchersOfMastodon

2nd #Archery session indoors. Very happy with my 472 after Fridays 473. Work to be done on my grouping but overall it’s a good start to the season. IA 1st class achieved and a 450 Portsmouth badge! #Archer #RecurveArcher #RecurveArchery #ArcheryGB #PortsmouthRound

1st #Archery session indoors after a 4 week break. Went well. New sight fitted and my initial guesses at position were almost perfect. Happy with my 473 (IA 1st class)… #Archer #RecurveArcher #RecurveArchery #ArcheryGB #PortsmouthRound #PB
