Kardokai ecovillage in Lithuania. I’d marked the village on the map but hadn’t got in touch beforehand. When I call the ecovillage’s number Raimundas picks up the phone. I explaine what I am up to, that I am in the neighborhood and that I’d love to come and say hello.

Sorting out the race files for the first British Human Power Club meet of the 2026 season at Hillingdon Cycle Circuit on Saturday. Good to see a decent number of arm-powered entries, and people who haven't raced with us before.

Hopefully it'll stay dry enough that I don't end up riding blind and come off the track at a random tangent like I did last time...

I've been a little distracted with broad-spectrum DIY, but the British Human Power Club racing season kicks off at #Hillingdon on Saturday. Registrations close at midday tomorrow.

Our events are open to anyone over the age of 12, on anything that's human-powered and meets a minimal set of safety requirements.

On Friday, I had one of the slowest #recumbent rides on my usual loop this year. 2 hours. Today, the same loop took me 20 minutes less. What changed?
1. Switched from greased chain to waxed chain
2. Switched from 1 3/4 inch #Panaracer tires to 28mm #Schwalbe One tires
3. Switched from a (limited edition) pink #Knog bell to a (limited edition) pink #Spurcycle bell
