Am Samstag Nachmittag noch zusammen eine gemischte Runde mit #velomobil en und #liegerad mit Teilverkleidung gedreht.
Wir waren zu viert zusammen mit @radlpit und weiteren.
Es ging von von Hausen aus den Kanal entlang über #forchheim nach #bamberg auf eine Erfrischung im Biergarten. Alles schön gemütlich ohne Hetze.
Immer wieder eine Freude mit anderen in der Gruppe zu fahren.

Sorting out the race files for the first British Human Power Club meet of the 2026 season at Hillingdon Cycle Circuit on Saturday. Good to see a decent number of arm-powered entries, and people who haven't raced with us before.

Hopefully it'll stay dry enough that I don't end up riding blind and come off the track at a random tangent like I did last time...

I went for a nice ride around Assen today on my recumbent bike and visited that statue of people planning to destroy the planet which they have outside the NAM building.

NAM stands for Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij, which translates into English as "Evil Dutch Oil Company".

Doch, ein Liege-Trike passt in die Ente — zumindest bei ausgebauter Rücksitzbank, mit Queue (Kofferaumverlängerung, welche die Ente sozusagen zu einem Stufenheckauto macht) und mit dem einzelnen Rad zwischen den Vordersitzen.

(Eigentlich wäre ja nur das erste Foto der Vorschlag, aber ich habe das zweite Foto auch mal angehängt, falls jemand eine weitere Perspektive interessiert.)

it is frustrating the ever-lovin' shit out of me that I cannot come up with an affordable way to get this recumbent shipped to me. And that whether I take the risk of shipping it from the US or switch tack and get something from AZUB in Czechia (with lower weight capacity), I am going to be pushed into spending $5 - 6K more. And I hadn't crowdfunded anywhere near the old amount I needed. 😭

Note that due to the high entry fee and limited numbers the Derby Velodrome event is unofficial, and will not earn championship points. It's a rare opportunity to ride something other than a conventional track bike on an indoor velodrome.

After the popularity of the (narrow, twisty) track at Hereford, we're doing a double-bill with the similar track at Evesham. Should be good fun for the un-faired and multitrack riders.

And we've managed to secure exclusive use of the (eyewateringly expensive) Betteshanger Park track for a weekend in September. Not a full World Championships, but we hope that some riders from continental Europe will take the opportunity to come over to enjoy the track, which with its long swooping curves and good sight-lines is well suited to faster machines.

I went for a short bike ride around the neighbourhood this afternoon, going through a few foresty areas on the way.

At one point I stopped to look around a second hand shop and spotted lots of identical DVDs, but also found a copy of the old 80s BBC series "Edge of Darkness", which has to be worth another viewing.

Oh, and DVDs from second hand shops are absolutely the best way to consume movies and old TV series, completely without enriching revolting billionaires like those who run services like #netflix .

And yes, a 16" #Brompton fits well into the trunk of a 2CV, even upright (in parallel to the boot lid). Did that often with my 16" Brompton in my 2CV. But I never took a picture of that. Will do next time. 🙂

I only have pictures of my #KMX #recumbent trike in the 2CV—w/o rear seats, with trunk extension and rear wheel between the front seats.)

Never tried the 20" G-Line yet, though. I also doubt it fits in the trunk. On the rear seat maybe.

The potatovision is a capture from his forward vision camera (the SeventySeven has no windscreen). There's some aliasing he doesn't get on his screen, but that's basically his entire view of the road. The nostril-cam is unflattering, but gives a whole new perspective on what it's like inside the bike.

Fingers crossed for another wind-legal run at some point.

This afternoon's bike ride was to Groningen and back to attend a demo for Gaza. A nice group of people stood quietly holding signs and handing out information to anyone who would take it. How long will it take for change to happen ?

I parked my bike next to a "no bikes may be parked here sign". That's a type of sign which Groningen now has far too many of. They clearly don't want to be known as a cycling city any more.
