Fighting with this Tascam Porta One on and off for about two weeks. It took ten hours to address its myriad of issues. Then, right when I thought I was done, I found the Record LED wouldn't go solid when Record is engaged.
If the tape mech from another Porta One is installed, recording works, so the problem is somewhere in the mechanism itself.
The very flimsy wires keep breaking off as I test, so I suspect there's a bad solder joint somewhere... #recdel
