El resultado de coger una copia barata de Star Wars, y luego recubres cada página con un furioso antifascismo.
A primera vista la estética es "Star Wars la trilogía original pero con los cambios justos para que no nos denuncien". Pero en realidad el tema principal es el antifascismo. Sois héroes por querer derrocar a los nazis espaciales. El juego va de pegarles puñetazos en la nariz y rescatar a quien tengan encarcelados.
El sistema Polymorph (de "Magos de las Finanzas" y "Las Excelentes") es bastante fácil y versátil, y aquí añade algunos extras interesantes. Por ejemplo, las "shining star" son valores morales y la vez una mecánica para obtener éxitos automáticos dependiendo de tu clase: Los rogues valoran la libertad por encima de todo y pueden obtener un éxito automático si eso libera a alguien. Los renegados valoran el cambio por encima de todo, tienen éxito automático si eso cambia el status quo. Creo que es algo que da mucho sabor al juego.
Aunque no vayas a jugarlo, creo que es una lectura interesante.

I sent an email to #DriveThruRPG regarding delisting of Rebel Scum. Saying that they are bowing down to cryptofascist groups and general fascist takeover of free speech, and that I will no longer be spending money there.
I got a response, which I did not expect. Their customer service pointed out that their guidelines prohibit "overt political agendas or views", and this is listed together with depictions of rape, racism, etc.
So I sent them the following reply.

DriveThruRPG/Roll20 demonstrated the courage of their convictions today by writing a lengthy post about the Rebel Scum controversy from last week...on Medium instead of their website's blog...and only linking to it from their official Bluesky account instead of their Facebook or Twitter account. Really shows their commitment to their ideals, and is in no way pandering to a left-leaning audience in a way that has backfired spectacularly.

That... didn't go well. Was provided a link to #DriveThruRPG / #Roll20 's Discord server. Didn't get to do more than say hello before I was deluged by more hairsplitters trying their damnedest to defend the #RebelScum author's political stunt. I had to leave before I exploded.

Addendum to the Addendum: It appears the #RascalNews article which has been fanning the flames is now fully-readable to non-subs. The true reason DTRPG delisted #RebelScum , what they initially tried to do to solve the issue and the author's political-stunt response, are all now plainly visible IN THE VERY NEXT PARAGRAPH.

Rebel Scum is a TTRPG about punching Republicans in a space fantasy setting. Roll20 & DTRPG don't want to host it because of the Republican punching.
A decade & change ago, I might've considered that fair & reasonable. Now? "Fair & reasonable" are words folks hide behind to justify giving ground. Actual "fair & reasonable" are a long way gone in the rear view mirror. Republicans & fascists both deserve a fist to the jaw.

67. Escoria rebelde (Chris O’Neill). Posiblemente uno de los ejemplos más extremos para contrarrestar aquello de “no mezclemos frikismo con política”. Un juego de rol que ya hace toda una declaración de intenciones en su portada al definirse como “space opera antifascista”. Escoria rebelde es, sin el menor disimulo, una versión de Star Wars en la que el foco total y absoluto se pone en la lucha de los rebeldes contra, literalmente, nazis del espacio. El juego es sencillo y orbita alrededor de la narratividad priorizando la creación de historias. El sistema Polymorph es muy sencillo pero logra de manera muy sencilla forzar diferencias muy relevantes en función del tipo de personaje que desees jugar. No creo que sea un juego para jugar largas campañas pero para oneshots o pocas sesiones puede funcionar muy bien. La ambientación son apenas cuatro páginas al final del libro pero seamos sinceros, esto es Star Wars y todos lo conocemos de sobra. Algo podremos inventarnos sobre la marcha. El arte del libro se queda un poco escaso pero la idea es muy buena con una estética de cajas de figuras de acción. Por último, destacar que me ha llamado la atención que esto no lo haya traducido una editorial indie sino que haya sido Devir que son (en el contexto rolero, claro está) una de las grandes. Les honra haber apostado por una marcianada así.
