so i've been thinking about this whole trump/epstein files shitshow and honestly? i think we might be watching the beginning of a major political realignment
like, the traditional left vs right might be breaking down into the working class vs the 1%. think about it, you've got maga people furious that trump is apparently protecting the same elite systems they thought he was fighting. meanwhile leftists have been pissed for years that figures like clinton never faced real scrutiny over their epstein connections
the epstein crisis is exposing something fundamental. the elite protection racket crosses all party lines. doesn't matter if you're red or blue team, if you're rich and connected enough you get a pass
what's wild is you're seeing these weird coalitions forming tho, house republicans breaking with trump to vote with democrats on releasing files. steve bannon warning about losing 40 seats suggests even he sees where this is going
maybe we're heading toward a realignment where the organizing principle becomes "are you on the side of regular people or are you protecting the powerful?"
like imagine a populist coalition of disillusioned maga folks, bernie types, anti-corruption activists, anyone tired of elite impunity. the class divide has been building anyway with housing costs, student debt, inequality while tech billionaires get richer
might be wishful thinking but this epstein thing feels like it could be the catalyst that breaks the whole system. when your own base turns on you over protecting pedophiles... that's not really recoverable

As time winds down, RGIII and Bob are both talking about negative effects of the realignment, which is the other sports, that doesn’t make money, like softball, volleyball, etc.

Well, if rumors are true, last Pac 12 schools are likely to jump ship, either to Mountain West (as long as CBS throws money at them as Mountain expands) or Big 12 (just merge the two conference, save time on process)

Even with all the #CFB #realignment going on, I'm begging for #collegefootball to watch. So I put on #ACC from 2015 with #NCST hosting #Cemson.

For WSU, they are in tough spot, because athletic department and academics, not on par with power conferences. They stayed in the Pac for that reason but now that it’s basically disbanding soon, they may have to find new home. Don’t know if even Mtn West will take them in. They got the shortest end of the straw.
Expect more moves this upcoming week.
But right now, Lee Corso is likely crying for the athletes for the four schools as tradition is gone.

With that factored in, they may have no choice but to join Mtn West, for the sake of student athletes, and hope that Mtn West’s expansion gamble pays off. For Cal and Stanford, their future is in massive limbo. Both school bring academics, which is fit for B1G, but that’s it. Stanford, Women’s sports brings big but Big 12 and B1G wants more.
For Oregon State, Big 12 was possibility (in fact, four corner school that joined asked Big 12 to bail the school out), but the school factored mental health aspect and determined move would be too much……

I just found a #spreadsheet I built 10 years ago where I arranged all 126 (then) of #NCAA #CollegeFootball teams into seven 14-team superconferences based on geography. In other words, exactly the opposite of what's happening now with #football #conference #realignment.

It seems very unlikely that the #Democrats will allow us to use their ballot line and infrastructure indefinitely, especially since #Jeffries is taking power.
What would it take for #DSA to build its own #party infrastructure?
