Fritz the Cat is one of the most subversive and famous underground comic series ever. In 1972, Ralph Bakshi released his adaptation of R. Crumb's seminal work to some fanfare and a lot of controversy, particularly from Crumb himself. It still holds as one of those movies you ask people if they've ever seen, especially if they are interested in this level of film from that era.

There's a 1989 #RCrumb story called "Point the Finger" which has its own Wikipedia entry.
In it, Crumb draws Donald Trump, who was just a real estate guy back then, and imagines arguing with him. The comic has two endings: one where Crumb gets arrested for wasting Trump's time, and another where Trump gets a swirlie from two women. Critics called it sexist and prescient, which is a fancy way of saying, "Wow, this comic was weirdly accurate and also kind of gross."

•Xmas evening: Fritz the Cat, The Grinch with Jim Carrey (TV broadcast)
•Tonight, more #RCrumb (who disowned Fritz). Finally unsealed the Crumb doc I bought in 2010 and kept forgetting about for 13 years. First time rewatching since I dragged a roommate to see it at The Cabot Theatre in 1994. I recommend this one though some family stuff of an emphatic nature that may have subconsciously kept me from watching sooner.
