Tekno EB48 2.2 8th scale buggy is nearly done. Just need to solder the motor and power wires, install the receiver, dial in the suspension geometry to a much better starting point and paint the body, oh and add the wing. Been an amazing build, really have mostly enjoyed it. Haha. It’s so big and heavy, just a monster. Hoping to take it on the big track at the edge of town next weekend. The guys out there so far have been super friendly. #rccar

Finally able to spend a little time on building this Tekno EB48 2.2 8th scale buggy. Building the front center and rear differential then those go into the front and rear bulkhead. Those then get built into the front and rear assembly.
This has been a really interesting build and thankfully the instructions are really good. Definitely the most complicated RC vehicle I've ever built.

What’s this? A post? I’ve been so busy with moving to Colorado from California I’ve just not had much time for projects and that’s what I like to post about the most. Well today the movers arrived and oh I have so many boxes to unpack and move and man. Just too much.
But I also got an 8th scale buggy kit that I’m really excited to build. This is the kit and some of the parts needed to build it. It’s a Tekno EB48 2.2. #rccar #rccars

Ok first real like “every day life post” in a long while. This last weekend I went to NorCal Hobbies in San Jose to use their indoor carpet track for the first time in YEARS. Met up with some other fur friends there and honestly I had a great time. I mostly ran my olllllld LCG RWD Traxxas Slash but I also picked up an Arrma Mini Kraton and man what a fun little truck.
Was a good and tiring day. Was nice to know I still had SOME skill on the track after being away from it so long. I also didn’t expect to like running Carpet, but it was fun. I’m moving soon so I don’t know if I’ll be able to go back again but yesterday reminded me how much I enjoy this hobby!

The charger finally arrived. Took the #ta02 out for a spin now that I can charge the new batteries. Even with the nearly 20yr old mechanical speed controller and motor it still is fun to bash around outside. I definitely need to get new tires on it and fix the steering. Wants to pull to the right.
One day I might pick up a #radiomaster #mt12 for this. Until then I'll use the pocket while I get more drone sim time in.

The fun adventure of trying to figure out where to buy 1/10th tires for my old #tamiya #ta02 #rccar is turning into a fun challenge. I don't need foam or drifting tires, just something to burn through on the asphalt outside.
Found some sites local to 🇨🇦, but nothing online local to the west coast. Probably need to hit up some local hobby shops this weekend.

Ich war heute auf der #rccar Strecke in #Frankfurt Goldstein. Heute morgen etwas sauber gemacht, gejätet und gefegt und am Nachmittag mit Sohn und einem Freund rumgegurkt. Schade dass nicht mehr los ist. Es gibt eine Grill, Toiletten und sowohl Sonne als auch schattige Ecken. Da müsste an so einem Tag eigentlich der Bär steppen.

I'm fully aware that I don't need more stuff - but it's hard to pass on a "parts" RC car for $1.00 (and it had it remote), This one is a bit of a toy - it uses DC motors, but I'm thinking it would make a interesting chassis for a robot.
And a hoverboard for $2.00 - The hub wheels are worth way more then $2.00.No chargers for either, but who cares it was $3.00 US. And is yet something else to put in the storage & never look at again LOL.

My #Prusa #MK3S is stuck in a recalibration loop after several days of rain, and then several days of running a dehumidifier. Last time when this happened indoors, it was a lubrication issue. I had to clean the rails and then lubricate with a thin #RCCar lube.
Has anyone tried graphite lubricants that might be less dust and humidity sensitive?

Inside the catbot, the electronics are very simple. This receiver board also serves as the power distribution board and basically the only electronics.
The 9v battery powers the board, which then sends power to the 2 lifter motors and the 2 drive motors based on the signal received from the cheapo radio transmitter. That's it.

It's -18C right now. A couple of years ago I would be hibernating and playing video games during my free time. Since getting into the #rchobby I still have an itch to get out there and rip around my #ArrmaMojave.
