It also solves lots of trouble if you work with a web browser as a source, as it autoconnects audio contexts to your preferred destination. Thanks to @QuentinJuhel for finding that. Obviously you can download RaySession even if you don’t use Ubuntu Studio.

One of the cool things about linux is, that even though one tool alone is incapable, there is always a way to connect things together in intended or unintended ways. Reniose has no proper vst3 sidechain routing? What do I care, I got Ray Session, pipewire and Carla to the rescue :P

@aliteral I use Ray Session with pipewire. If I understand it correctly, it just replaces jack in my case.
One annoyance with ardour vs raysession: If you save a project from the ardour session and want to continue managed by ray session seems to be impossible. Still have to wrap my head arround that. You can manage connections to and from ardour, if it was started outside raysession, but the state will be saved in the ardour session. Did I miss something? -
