FWIW I’m paying (donating?) 20 bucks a month to Ravenation, the server that I kinda chose at random. I asked Malte (the main dude over there) in all seriousness how much a chatty cathy like me would cost them, including the pics and occasional video. And NOT deleting the older content, so hosting that too. And he thought that 20 bucks would be more than enuf. So that’s what I’m paying & man, Ravenation has been solid as a rock for me. No issues. Working on an EP right now.

Promotion is gonna be the hardest part because unless you’re backed by a large label who thinks you’ll earn them big bucks, you’re on your own as an artist.

Indie labels can be just as frustrating as the majors, which is why I mostly rely on self releases. I think independent labels get lots of praise but artists forget that it really comes down to the contract terms.
