For #wipwednesday I have finally joined the Ranunculus sweater cult. There are over 35k projects in #Ravelry for it! Hoping to finish this weekend if possible. Is it a me problem or have others the same one?

I can't access #Ravelry, I get a timeout. Everything else seems to work just fine. When I check with some websites about the down status I get the message that everything is alright. But it isn't and hasn't been for the last 2 or 3 hours.

I don't want to restart my smartphone right now, but I have the same problem in at least 2 different browsers.

@transitionalaspect We are in close sync! I finished Crescent #5 and have woven in half the ends, the rest tomorrow am. I think I'll be able to dip my toe into clue #2 by Monday, gotta write some stuff tomorrow. Here's a shot of mine minus the last welt. Amazing how much better it looks with the ends sewn in. Last night fell down an OCD rabbit hole. Reorganized 2025 knitting plans in Google Notes (created for FOFA last year). It's handy on all devices & has served me well. Mine is:

🧶 Must-haves, leaves 2 more options, max of 5.
🧶 WIPS
🧶 QUEUED, subdivided into categories ex Me, Family, Friends etc
🧶 FOs when finished above I just dump it below
🧶 Tools I lust for

This is the one "big picture" organizing tool not on #Ravelry. Once active here, it graduates to Rav.

@consumablejoy Blocked, all ends sewn in, pictures taken and posted on #Ravelry Projects page. Also if a gift, picture of that person with their gift, holding it or if garment/accessory, then wearing it. Those are my rules!

Oh yeah, and the clean up - stitches markers etc put away, remnant yarn re-stashed in updated marked zip bag, including Rav Queued page, or into yarn remnants bag. Project bag wiped clean or laundered. A bit OCD but that's how I roll! 😊

@consumablejoy I either use the frogged yarn right away (not often), or more often I rebag and relabel it, put it back in the stash, make sure my #Ravelry Stash page is updated too. Also, if it's very kinked, I re-skein it, soak it in wool wash for about 20 minutes, hang to dry, then bag/label so it's good to go when I want to use it.

🧶🧶🧶 I bet there's a pattern in #Ravelry for this. From J. Peterman Company, there are lots of great ideas for classic pieces here, translatable to our craft. Plus wonderful stories to go with. This is the Linen Button Front Sweater.

@Clianthus It was actually 1st one I made, it was very plain and stitch size too big, so stuffing was peeking through. Settled on US3 needles, three strands of fingering held together, for main body parts, on later chickies. Anything is fine for the embroidery, which I just did.

Can someone in #FiberArts explain how #Ravelry classifies projects?

Like I'm more into Crochet than Knitting but I did TRY Knitting. If you click the knitting tab in projects it only shows one of the projects I did.

The other one still says it's knitting, but it doesn't show up.

Looking for clarity or a guide, thanks!

All pics are from unblocked product, since I finished it about 45 minutes before saying goodbye to the lovely guest who stayed with me for the past few weeks, and who was the recipient of the beanie. I gave them a small bottle of Eucalan and will instruct them on how to wash and block the beanie. Hope they will enjoy it!

Have good memories especially of knitting during a Sunday afternoon of lunch, drinks, snacks and board games at my other friend's place ❤️

I learned to knit in 2004, but never made it a consistent practice due to ADHD. In my periods of hyperfixation, I’ve knit some wild stuff like neon fair isle socks and little stuffed shrimp toys filled with catnip as gifts. Recently, I’ve gotten way more deliberate about #knitting garments and understanding how fiber content can impact the finished product. I missed the whole Covid knitting boom, but I guess I’m getting into the tail end of that now. I love watching knitting podcasts on YT while I knit, and I will knit anywhere in public.

Greetings Mastoknitters! Now more than 1/2 through this challenging, engaging knit. Design (Stephen West #WestKnits, Amsterdam) is built around his inventive use of drop stitches, creating those long spans of yarn. There is only ever one yarn held at a time across a row - kind of amazing when you look at the result. This here yarn is cashmere and silk, with a soft draped hand. The nicest thing I've made to date!

Good evening, mastoknitters! Here is my version of Stephen West/WestKnits' #AuroraCabinShawl. There are close to 1,000 knitters participating in this #HKAL2022 (Hiber Knit A-Long). We all cast on on Dec 26th, most of us are about 1/2 way through.

It's a five color knit, with an innovative use of Ye Olde Slipped Stitch employed. Only one color yarn is held at a time, mercifully. The many permutations can be seen on #Ravelry. Soooo fun! 🧶🤗

Knitters nerd note - I screwed up when purchasing yarn for this, was supposed to be 400yds/100g per color, and I got 400yds/55g. A friend pointed out "It's ok, it will just be summer weight" and she was right! Thank God. 💞🧶🙏

I finished these "Oak Hollow" fingerless mitts in sport weight wool, on double pointed needles. Kinda like the cheery turquoise and gold color combo, though they don't really 'go' with any of my coats or sweaters much. Cute acorns and oak leaves pattern.
