I have been running #ssmtp on raspberrypi as I need to get mail off the box. However, I see notes on debian that is is now unmaintained but still available as a package.

I've looked at #msmtp as an alternative and also #dma. both seem to work well

I only need a method of getting mail off the box so I don't need a full smtpd like exim, postfix etc.

What's the feeling for a futureproof, supported transfer agent?

Alright, anyone have any good links for getting started with building small hobbyist computers (Raspberry Pi and the like)? I've got some project ideas bouncing around, and I think I'll need to (okay... I'd like to) put together custom systems for them.

I presume they've implemented the transmit with simple bit-banging a GPIO line.

I want to replace the secondary MCU with one of my own. I can implement the interface with just bit-banging, too, but if I don't have to - because it's a standard and someone has already written #code for the #RP2040 / Raspberry Pi Pico - then that would be great.

Anyone know if this is a standard I haven't found?

Anyone have any thoughts /recommendations / best practices for a high-reliability or "self healing" #Linux setup, specifically for a #RasbperryPi in a very hard-to-reach place?

I'm working with my local #HamRadio club to mount a SBC up on an antenna tower, so it can run an IP-based #SDR without pulling another feedline or an expensive filter. It would be powered from a 24VDC line that goes up there, so that's not an issue. IP backhaul is via directional WiFi.
