  1. @irishcycle yeah, obviously it's ok to block the cycle lanes "just for a minute"

  4. @ccferrie It's all there. Hidding in plain sight. The reason why #Dublin is 15 years behind when it comes to transport. Why rich #Ranelagh is still completely clogged up by car-dependency. No lesson learnt from #COVID years.

    quality NIMBYism in this anti-cycling article on #bike lanes in #Ranelagh , #Dublin , #ireland.

    Apparently, we should all oppose bike lanes in Ranelagh as the roads:

    lack space (due to car congestion);
    do not need bike lanes in narrow parts (where car drivers get impatient & dangerous); and
    are blocked in the morning (due to, mostly illegal, parking by delivery trucks).

    In reality, the complaints in the article sell the new bikes lanes.

    Proper segregated #cyclelane to #Ranelagh and #Ballsbridge is being planned. It's been planned for a long time, but the news here is rather the positive and unavoidable tone of the article.

    I’m Welsh-Californian, living in #dublin. My day job at wordtothewise.com involves #email, #privacy, #software development in #golang, and making the internet a better place.

    I’ve been far too online for far too long.
