I'm annoyed that the "Wow how did Rance make it on Steam but Horses got banned?" discussion point quickly pivoted to "We need to ban Rance" instead of "Valve's internal guidelines for what is or isn't allowed is nonsensical."
Shows how people who are ostensibly anti-censorship are completely okay with censorship when it comes to things that make them uncomfortable.
Laws/policies need a far more solid foundation then "It makes me feel icky/uncomfortable." Many innocent people could be imprisoned/have their lives ruined if laws are allowed to have such flimsy foundations.
If you are truly anti-censorship, you need to be willing to defend art that depicts weird fetishes and generally uncomfortable subjects just as much the wholesome LGBTQ+ coffee shop fan-fiction.
Saying the weird fetish stuff and whatnot are "acceptable sacrifices" has contributed to the mass censorship wave across the globe. It's what allowed the fascists to get their foot in the door.
