Organ Harvest Coordinator :BhjFlag_Ace: :sparkles_aromantic: :neocat_flag_agender_256: </IsmellaNEEEEEEEEEERD> @[email protected] ·CW: Long ramble about character writing that I absolutely love and the Ori games
I've been going through the Ori games once again and I to this day think people should appreciate it more. When the second and last game released I saw a lot of people complaining that it didn't have a good ending and that they were deeply disappointed that Shriek didn't get a redemption arc or got saved.
But I highly disagree with the sentiment to this day. Not only did the first game not have a 'good' ending, giving it to Shriek after all that was build up would just be half baked fan service that I am glad they didn't go for.In the first game, Ori and the blind forest, while we restored the world and 'Ori' population, we still left a trail of corpses behind.
All the Naru and Gumo are practically extinct.
The main antagonist, Kuro, sacrificed herself to safe the forest only with the hope that it will give her only remaining child a chance of survival. Which it did, but was unable to fly on one wing.Does that sound like a perfect happily ever after? Does that sound like the writers wanted to give us a cushy story with no edges?
We saw from the start that all the odds were heavily stacked against Shriek. Even before she was born, all of her kin was eradicated and she came to be in a decaying world with no guidance, no light, no support and love or forgiveness. She couldn't even fly as the dark sludge molded her wings into stumps that she could only use as extra legs. The one any only time she found companionship, it was whisked away and Shriek was chased off for her difference.
Since the very start Shriek was set to see the world as nothing more but a fight for survival and she had more than enough reason despise the light. And just before the end of the game, Sein — the light from the second game, the will of the wisps — out right attacked her and would have done further harm if we didn't stop them.
There was no world where right after that she would have accepted the light, even knowing her time was running out.Because if one thing keeps beating you down all your life you're not going to trust it even if it could safe you. That's just not how.. anyone works. Characters that have been so mistreated by the 'good side' don't bounce back from trauma just because we arrived. Even with the best intentions in mind, even with the tools and knowledge to fix everything taken by the rot and darkness, we arrived way too late in Shriek's story.
And I suppose with how many stories try to be satisfying with a good ending, I love how Will of the Wisps ended, not because it wasn't a good ending, it wasn't a bad ending either, it simply finished the story in a satisfying and faithful to the lore way.
It's bittersweet in a way that lets you cry in joy and loss.It shows you how the light can hurt, how characters that truly and deeply deserve to heal and be redeem can be too hurt to accept salvation, that death isn't as much of a beginning as it is an ending.
I love it, I love it so much.If you don't want to pay or pay for the games, there are plenty videos of cutscenes for both games that convey the main plot of the stories. However, I do recommend playing if you enjoy action platformers, they do an amazing job at immersing you in the world.

I had a fun day with Emerson today.
He convinced me to leave the house and we ran errands while playing this weirdly Christian questions game designed for kids. It started with a question like “if you could design the tastiest sandwich ever made, what would that sandwich be” and by the time we’d gone through all of the questions, Emerson had had to skip around a dozen questions because of how damn preachy they all were. That game escalated quickly.
I don’t mind the occasional Jesus-related question. Hell, I’ll even discuss the Bible with Christians because I find a lively informed debate energizing and fun. But a bunch of questions along the lines of “if you could enter one Bible story, what would it be?”
Uhhhhhhhhhhhh……..
No.
I’ve been there, done that, got the T shirt from my time as a Mormon and all the soul searching I did afterwards. I’m good. I’m a fan of Jesus as he’s portrayed in the Bible, but his father and fandom have a lot to answer for before I’m going to be okay with most Christian shit.
More to the point, this is a game designed for kids. What is this, How To Indoctrinate Your Kids 101??
We did get some funny answers out of it. Like my answer to the question “what is something that you don’t need but your life is much better because you have it?” or however it was phrased was simply “BEANS” referring to the cats because we were parked close to our apartment at the time. I took a video of Emerson imitating me with additional dramatic flair and that is making the rounds all over social media now, as best I can tell.
I’m pretty tired, so I’m gonna wander off now.
G’night everyone!!

Egee’s Hasty Halloween Candy Ramble | Soft Spoken Ramble, Candy Eating, Crinkly
https://youtu.be/JgEkN2p0lpk Hello Flufferschnoots and happy belated Halloween! I got some some fun candies as per usual for the spooky season but life got the better of me and I didn't have the time to produce this one last month. It's been something of a tradition each year for Egee to make a video nomming on candies while rambling about some topic for Halloween. I washed the boy up so we had a nice clean set of the admittedly sparse selection of candies this year. The fruity tootsie […] -
So let me get this straight. Being naked on camera, fine. Having sex on camera, great! Playing the role of a pedophile or hitler , can do! But playing the role of biological brother and sister , that’s a bridge to far ?

https://youtu.be/qv0_1W41MV0 Hello Flufferschnoots! It's finally time for me to introduce you to the new channel. It's called e.g. ASMR and it's one of the places I'll be regularly uploading my ASMR content! While this isn't my first rodeo with ASMR on YouTube, this is a new and improved style! Egee 2.0, if you will. I've learned a lot in my content creation career and I plan to maintain a more sustainable pace. This introduction video was fun to make. I didn't have much prepared before […]https://egee.xyz/2025/09/01/introducing-e-g-asmr-on-youtube/

Introducing: 31 Days of Fictional Crushes, Starting Tomorrow!
Greetings pyjaks, I know what you’re thinking, it’s the end of the month, so it’s time to put out my monthly musings with music. Well, not this time. Things are going to be a little different.
Tomorrow, Blaugust begins, and for a while, I had this idea brewing in my head about how I wanted to participate this year. The first two years, I winged it, the third I answered a bunch of Bel’s prompts, and now I have an original idea of my own.
This was also inspired by one blogger who used to post all the time. The last time she was very active was when she did a Harry Potter challenge. I’m not sure what happened to her blog after that, but I know it wasn’t the only subject she talked about.
So, I will be doing a similar challenge to that, every day I’m going to upload a post talking about the fictional characters I’m head-over-heels for. Presenting, 31 Days of Fictional Crushes!
You may or may not have seen the gallery of them on this blog, but it’s always growing because of the comfort they bring. (They’re also all men because I’m straight hahaha!) Some of them are human and some of them are not. hell, some of them I don’t even know what the exact name for their species is!
I pondered for a bit what I would write about them. Well, the most obvious would be when I realized I was in love with them. Why do I love them? What’s my favourite quote? What are some unique memories and fun facts I have with these characters? Do I have songs that make me think of them? Music does make my imagination run wild after all! Some of them are from the same universe, so I might combine them into one post. Maker, hopefully, I can fit them all in one month! But that’s why I have to start this project early!
I may have written about a few of them before, and it might make the most sense for me to start with the most obvious one that everyone knows I love, like Optimus Prime, but that’s exactly why I am not starting with him this time! That way, my viewers will get to know the other characters I love besides him, and then when it’s his turn, well, it’s his turn, right?
I never use terms on the Internet like “simp” or “smut” when it comes to my fictional crushes. Why? Well, loving fictional characters is more than just about the sexual fantasies to me. It’s also about their personalities and what they could offer in a romance which is why when I think of them, I sometimes just imagine a kiss in the moonlight or a candlelit dinner with a dance. I can be pretty old-fashioned.
Anyway, keep an eye out, this challenge starts now, and if you’re feeling inspired and have just as many fictional crushes as I do, maybe you’ll want to do the same thing!
Happy reading and writing!

Gooday Flufferschnoots! I’ve returned from my holiday refreshed and recharged. Just kidding – I’m still as tired as ever. But I had a lot of fun!

The Alienation in Gaming – Violent Little Thing
We’ve seen this problem before. It always sucks when a game you want to play isn’t on your preferred platform.
Apart from Nintendo, I can understand if this decision is related to budget, licensing, and lack of expertise, but none of these things are impossible to address and find a workaround for.
In the gaming industry today, platform exclusives are less frequent because most developers recognize that releasing your game on multiple platforms not only increases accessibility to your game but also revenue.
However, a line in the sand is drawn if developers just flat-out refuse to bring their games to multiple platforms for reasons other than the aforementioned is not only dumb but also tone-deaf.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfDxEltKCfg
Lately, YouTube has been recommending a lot of video game trailers to me. I’ve watched them and added the respective games to my Steam wishlist. Then I saw the trailer for Code Violet and was immediately drawn to its setting: badass female protagonist, dinosaurs, and a combination of action and stealth.
But then, I found out from a fellow blogger that the developers weren’t bringing the game to PC, so it’s no wonder it doesn’t have a Steam page. I did some digging and learned that their reasons behind the decision are completely absurd.
TeamKill Media has stated that they don’t want to bring their game to PC because they don’t want it “ruined” by the modding community with vulgar mods of the characters.
What in the actual name of fucking Azathoth? Firstly, that makes zero sense because looking at the game’s protagonist, she already looks stereotypically sexy, so why worry about that? (Good God, just take a look at some of the outfits she is wearing!)
Secondly, (I can’t believe I’m saying this because I despise 4chan since one of their rules stated that girls are not on the Internet… though I hope at this point it is irrelevant), I hate to break it to you, but rule 34 is everywhere. You literally will always find explicit fan art and other content from a video game anywhere. People do it because they want to. People are horny, and as long as they are not hurting anyone, how exactly does this ruin the game? How does it tarnish the reputation of the actors?
Maker, I hate it when these companies try to enforce fan behaviour in any shape or form.
Oh, and thirdly, how dare you label us PC gamers as nothing but vulgar modders! Not all of us are basement-dwelling incels making pornographic mods to make up for a lack of offline experience!
I may not mod many games myself, but at least I recognize the relevance of it in the community. Want to know why a game like Skyrim is still relevant today? The answer is: MODS. Even Bethesda recognized this, so when they released the special edition, they included a whole catalogue of approved mods for players to download.
Most of the modding I’ve seen in communities was often used to enhance game performance and accessibility. For example, I used a map mod in Subnautica. Some mods also offer more customization features, like more hairstyle options in Dragon Age: Inquisition.
The only time I have seen “vulgar” mods was for Resident Evil Village, one mod could make Karl Heisenberg shirtless, and something more explicit for Lady Dimitrescu. It certainly didn’t ruin the game or Capcom’s reputation.
So you see, modding is just one critical tool in the preservation of a game, as it keeps the community alive.
Look, I understand being protective over your work and wanting to protect, say, the people involved from sexual harassment and other forms of backlash. But, by choosing to exclude a large audience of gamers because you’re afraid of what they’ll do to the game, is not only disrespectful, but can feel like we are being falsely labelled as inferior to the industry.
Think about it logically, it’s like a car company stops manufacturing and selling a particular model just because a small group of people will choose to give it a custom paint job!
Why punish one of the largest gaming communities just because a small portion of them might mod the game in ways you disagree with? This form of creativity does not have a single theme, nor is it an attack on the original art.
If they were that concerned about mods, they could just add software that blocks mods, or do what Bethesda did and pre-approve of them.
By forfeiting the PC market because you are assuming that every PC gamer is going to wreck your game with vulgar mods is just tone-deaf as fuck. It makes us feel like we are all being punished just because only a small portion of us actually make mods like that.
Also, as I mentioned, the PC gaming community has the largest market, so this decision will result in fewer profits, which could be detrimental to the company, especially after their last game apparently flopped financially.
Plus, whether you like it or not, NSFW art for any franchise is everywhere; there’s no way to stop it. People like to do this kind of shit. There’s nothing wrong with it, it’s okay if you do it, and it’s okay if you don’t, just like masturbating.
In conclusion, it’s disappointing that a cool game I saw is being run by a bunch of purists who are presuming the worst intent out of a very large and passionate gaming community that I happen to be part of. There is a chance that maybe once the game releases, the team will see they’re not making enough money and then change their minds, or the game will have too many issues and die.
Also, they won’t bring the game to Xbox consoles either because they “don’t have the manpower.” Jesus Christ, what a bunch of delusional purists, you know you can always hire people to help you with that, right? Look at other developers working under Sony, like Guerrilla; they have been working with Nixxes Software to bring their games to PC so that more players can enjoy them. See, there you go, I just solved one of your problems for you! I’m sure there are also people at Microsoft who can do the same thing! As for your concern about vulgar mods, well,l there’s not much you can do about it; it’s going to happen one way or another, so you might as well live and let live. If you have to stick up for your actors, then do it, but explicit mods… scratch that, any mods will not, repeat, NOT tarnish your game in any way.
Oh well, until something changes, I guess I’ll just steer clear of TeamKill Media. There will always be other dinosaur-related games I can look forward to playing, like Parkasaurus in my library and the highly anticipated Jurassic Park Survival, which also features a female protagonist and has a higher emphasis on stealth, like Alien: Isolation, but with dinosaurs.

There Goes My Watchlist As Dark Times Are Ahead
I shouldn’t put so much faith in a single source to watch TV and movies on my list, but I just miss the days when everything was on cable, and Netflix was the only streaming service available that had nearly everything, too.
Crave is also good because it comes with HBO, so that also bundles things together. But now, there are so many platforms that it can be overwhelming for you and your bank account.
A few years ago, when I discovered Microsoft had an app where I could grow a digital collection of movies and TV, I started building it. I bought movies I know I would re-watch, and only I would watch them. I did the same thing with shows, including new ones.
MS had some great deals on films every week, so I always kept an eye out for anything I wanted to add. On occasion, I would sometimes watch movies from my collection on the old Xbox One instead of my computer. Plus, I loved their weekly $4.99 deals on films.
It was nice to have a digital collection on my computer as well as physical DVDs/Blu-Rays of films/shows that I loved even more.
Don’t get me wrong, physical will always reign supreme, but when storage space is limited, I don’t want my collection of those to get too large until I have more space.
Then, I found out last weekend that Microsoft was discontinuing offering movies and TV in its store.
I did not learn about this until Monday, as I was working all weekend when the news broke.
Squidward gravestone meme made by me with imgflip.comMy first question once again was “Why? Why would they do this?” A lot of companies that make game consoles seem to be moving away from being able to watch movies on them. Sony did a few years ago, too.
I read the FAQ, and MS didn’t seem to really explain the reason behind this; they were basically saying, “Too bad, so sad”. No refunds either. While they do say that you can still watch the stuff you’ve already acquired, I don’t think I can trust them on that one. Who knows how long I’ll be able to do that before they remove that feature too?
Plus, what’s the point now? Several shows I had on there will forever remain incomplete.
I was pretty laid back about movie/TV streaming years ago, and that was when Netflix had everything. But aside from now having too many platform options, I also grew protective of my watch time, living in a shared household, or constantly being asked “whatcha watching?” So I turned to watching things on my computer. MS Movies & TV I thought was the most convenient option, as you know, I am not a fan of subscriptions.
It felt like a good place I could watch things with more privacy and without subscribing. Now it seems that it has been taken from us.
Even if this is frustrating, the truth is that it isn’t a much of an inconvenience as I thought. Many of the movies I have I have already seen. Most of my shows, I am caught up on or am rewatching. So far, there’s only one that’s new to me, but I should be able to find it somewhere else. I’ll just need to be more tolerant of sometimes being disturbed.
I really should finish what I was watching on Netflix, and another show I started, I should be able to watch on Amazon. So perhaps losing access to one thing will encourage me to finish those shows and also make it more comfortable with pizza and popcorn on the couch instead of my chair!
It also makes me reflect on where I consume media. For example, I’ve started exploring CBC Gem and found favourites that I discovered a while ago, some other shows on my watch list like Downton Abbey (the one with Maggie Smith), and it’s a Canadian platform.
I appear to be handling this situation rather well, but I still hate this capitalism and licensing shit. First, Nintendo is doing the usual, then Lego did the unforgivable, and now this. At least I have a plan to soldier on despite it.
