This might be the best bad play I’ve ever made in #Splatoon3 #Rainmaker. Bad play because a lack of coordination on my team left us split & heading for different pedestals, which put me wildly out of position to support. But I was able to take advantage of being unopposed & paint a path to the goal, pick up the rainmaker, and win the match. #Splatoon

Incidentally, the pedestal jump to the ledge is also the quickest way to advance the score from the right pedestal on Hagglefish Market. #Splatoon3 #Rainmaker #Splatoon

Even better, though somewhat riskier, is to jump from the #Rainmaker pedestal to the ledge above the ramp. This provides less cover, but if you survive the jump you get the biggest instant score boost.

Of the 3 routes, the wall is the safest and will break the tie. If your team is fighting well, this will provide the quickest boost & shortest path to the goal. The rail is almost never a good idea. 3/3 #Splatoon3 #Splatoon

So, you are playing #Splatoon3 #Rainmaker on Inkblot Art Academy and you are losing by 1 point because the other team broke checkpoint first. You need to advance the score & get the lead. Here's why you NEVER take the rail to do so. Notice how the score doesn't advance at all, meanwhile you are open to enemy fire while taking the long route. Teammates may use this route to try to flank, but it is rarely a good idea to take the rainmaker this way, especially if you just need to get the lead. 1/3

I don't know which #Splatoon3 players need to hear this, but if you are playing #Rainmaker on Inkblot Art Academy, & you are carrying the rainmaker, PLEASE don't try for the rails. They don't advance the rainmaker at all and don't score you points, meanwhile make you vulnerable to the defense. Instead, there is a paintable bit of wall just right of the bottom of the ramp in front of the pedestal. Climb that and move forward for mad points! #Splatoon #NintendoSwitch
