At last! Nationally coordinated recycling polices are being rolled out. Here's some highlights (from Nottingham):
*tetrapacks*. Yeah! They are still an awkward mix of foil, plastic and card. We have saved 1000 tetrapaks, and the unnecessary transport of a tonne of water, by switching to Overherd oat milk powder
Loose *foil* - gather enough for tennis ball sized wad.
*plastic bags and wrap*. This is a huge advance for home recycling! Many types are covered, with some exceptions. I do however I am sceptical about how and where it will be processed so, like us at Veggies Catering Campaign , you should avoid the use of plastic bags and wrap
Veggies and #SumacCentre have been obsessive about recycling since our beginnings at the #RainbowCentre on Mansfield Road which, together with Nottm FoE from 1985, was part funded by the collection of cans and newspaper, long before household recycling became widespread.

We're dipping into the archives from #RainbowCentre (1984-2000), now continuing as the #SumacCentre, in the #ForestFields area of #Nottingham
The #RainbowArchive covers everything from a 1963 issue of The Vegan, the Journal of the #VeganSociety, with an article about their #vegan library (#synchronicity), to #Outrage, the @animalaid Newsletter, featuring #Veggies40Years Anniversary and the #AnimalAid Fairs, with #FoodByVeggies since the late '80s, and now part of #Vegfest.
