🇫🇷 Puisque j'étais (en souvenirs) au Danemark et que le mercredi est le jour du #RailwayWednesday voici quatre vues des trains locaux qui circulaient au départ d'Hillerød : Les rames IC/2 (dérivées des rames IC/3 des DSB) sur la Frederiksværkbanen et des "Lynette" (Lyn signifie éclair en danois et c'est aussi une catégorie de trains IC rapides (éclairs = Lyntog ou IC Lyn) qui traversent le Danemark. Les "Lynette" ou Y-Tog sont les Schienenbus danois, d'ailleurs construits par Uerdingen pour les DSB et pour les chemins de fer locaux (privés) et étaient utilisés notamment sur la Gribskovbanen reliant Hillerød à Tisvildeleje. 🇬🇧 As I was (in thoughts) in Denmark and Wednesday is the day of the #RailwayWednesday here are four views of the local trains that ran from Hillerød : The IC/2 trainsets (derived from the IC/3 trainsets of the DSB) on the Frederiksværkbanen and the "Lynette" (Lyn means lightning in Danish and it is also a category of fast IC services (lightning = Lyntog or IC Lyn) that operate long distance trains with few stops across Denmark. The "Lynette" or Y-Tog are the Danish "Schienenbus", built by Uerdingen for the DSB and for the local (private) railways and were used on the Gribskovbanen between Hillerød and Tisvildeleje. 🇫🇷 Un "FLIRT" et un "KISS" pour ce #RailwayWednesday Il n'y a aucune malice, ce sont des acronymes en allemand pour désigner ces deux types d'automotrices produites par Stadler. A noter qu'entre Koblenz-Hbf et Trier-Hbf et vice-versa, elles circulent ensemble formant une rame assez originale. Et avec FLIRT et KISS, j'ai deux chansons françaises des années 1970 en tête, les trouverez-vous?

🇬🇧 A "FLIRT" and a "KISS" for this #RailwayWednesday There is no malice, they are acronyms in German for these two types of EMUs produced by Stadler. Note that between Koblenz-Hbf and Trier-Hbf and vice-versa, they run together forming a rather original train. And with FLIRT and KISS, I have two French songs from the 1970s in mind, will you find them?

🇫🇷 Bienvenue à Clapham Junction, la gare la plus fréquentée du Royaume-Uni! C'est ce qui est indiqué sur les quais.

En novembre 2004, lorsqu'aller au Royaume-Uni ne nécessitait qu'une carte d'identité, j'avais fait une journée de "trainspotting" à Londres. Le trainspotter, est un amateur de trains qui note dans de petits carnets les numéros des rames mais par extension les photographie aussi. Et il y en avait des amateurs au bout des quais! Cela reste un souvenir mémorable car avoir autant de trains sur une seule vue, c'est vrai que c'est impressionnant! Les trains sont bien électriques, il sont alimentés par troisième rail. A cette époque, il y avait encore les fameuses rames "slam doors" (portières manuelles). Une brochette de rames modernes et plus anciennes est représentée ici.

In november 2004, travelling to the UK was very easy, an ID-Card only was required. I decided to make a day abroad to London to go "trainspotting". A trainspotter ist a railway enthusiast who notes train numbers, study history, ... but it is also someone who take pictures of trains. There were lots of trainspotters there when I arrived in the early afternoon. This is one of the memorable spotting experience because seeing so many trains in a few hours was really extraordinary. In that time, the "slam doors" EMUs were also still in revenue service. Note that the trains are running with electricity provided by third rail. A bunch of old an new EMUs are pictured here.
