  1. Based on the latest reporting by @joeldrapper regarding the #RubyCentralTakeover, and my own experiences which heretofore have not been reported, I am now sharing this additional timeline of what transpired during the DHH debacle surrounding #RailsConf 2025.

Recent events since have led me to a place where I believe the #Ruby community must start over from the democratic grassroots. I will not and cannot associate with Ruby Central as it currently stands. Here's why:

  11. My favorite part from @bencurtis's #RailsConf talk last month was where he explained CGI environment variables and how they still show up in our systems today (including in Honeybadger!).

Fun memories from the days of early web development—give it watch if you haven't.

  23. Hotwire Native seems pretty cool!

I'm definitely gonna build native apps for my homegrown CMS as a way to learn my way around

I watch Joe Masilotti's #RailsConf workshop (2 hours) and then bought his book. :)

  34. Thanks to everyone who came to my #RailsConf talk, I had a great time!

To the many people who called it brave and courageous to do a live demo, you're far too kind, but I appreciate it 😄

  36. Thanks **TO** @rubycentral for putting on so many great @railsconf's over the years!

It was an honor to be part of the final one and to meet so many motivated people! I’m leaving with a lot of great memories and even more excitement for what’s ahead for the Ruby Community!

    Thank you! ❤️

  38. i thought i might be sad about the end of the era of #RailsConf, but mostly i just feel relieved that there’s one less event for @rubycentral to invite DHH to. they really just kept platforming that man right up until the very end and THAT’S what’s sad.

  42. I had a blast at #RailsConf! Thank you so much for all the support for and kind words about my presentation on the history of deploying Rails apps. Your appreciation for my work on the faker gem was overwhelming and really touched me. ❤️

  43. On Day 0 of #RailsConf, attendee Wale Olaleye, a Philly local, hosted a pre-conference walking tour of the city!

We LOVE seeing these community-driven side events at our conferences. 🫶

  44. I’m so grateful for @rubycentral and #RailsConf: It was great to meet old friends and make new #RubyFriends!

It’s amazing to be part of this community, both inspiring and inclusive. I hope we can meet again soon at other regional conferences! ♥️

  45. That’s a wrap, #RailsConf. The friendships I’ve formed these past 16 years in Ruby mean the world to me.

    I’ll see you around!

  46. Y'know, I felt zero FOMO this week for the final #Railsconf. But I'm stoked to see regional Ruby conferences returning! Fingers crossed for another #RubyMidwest ...
