  1. @oclsc Been wondering since East Palestine why there's a) no NIST standard for all flavors of defect detectors, b) no national law specifying implementation, testing protocols. c) FDR Wallace would threaten nationalization to fix the mess
Might c-suite bonuses, Precision Stock Buybacks, AAR lobbying be interfering?😉😡#RailSafety #RailroadSafety

  2. Safety Inspector Fired for Finding Too Many Defects Could Cost #BNSF Railroad Millions - Dude was fired for reporting the truth and his supervisor got a $20k bonus for getting rid of him and protecting corporate profits over passenger safety. Surprised? I didn’t think so. #Railroads #RailroadSafety #transportation #BurlingtonNorthernSantaFe #CorporateGreed jalopnik.com/safety-inspector-

The Wreck of the Old 97 was an American rail disaster involving the Southern Railway mail train in 1903. Traveling at an excessive speed to maintain schedule, the train derailed at the Stillhouse Trestle near Danville, Virginia, where it careened off the side of the bridge, killing 11

The wreck inspired the first million-selling country music ballad in 1924

  4. Did you know:

    1. NASA promotes air safety through its successful and confidential Aviation Safety Reporting System (ASRS), which started in 1976.

    2. Based on its success, in 2010 NASA partnered with the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) to promote railway safety by creating its similar Confidential Close Call Reporting System (C3RS).

Both are managed at NASA Ames in Silicon Valley.
