#SciFi author David Brin @davidbrin has a nice little essay that fits the US's current political turmoils, and how Robert A. Heinlein's "future history" series of stories predicted something awfully close to what's playing out today.
It's worth reading.

I can't believe I never posted about this, not just over a month ago, my gallbladder fucking exploded*.
That was a deeply, DEEPLY unpleasant experience. 0/10 not recommended.
Having said that, and aside from the fact that they misdiagnosed my problem and sent me home when I showed up on the Saturday night, my experience with the #RAH was excellent.
I then proceeded to pack and move house (with the assistance of friends), and I'm pretty sure I caused more injury despite limiting myself to very light activities. I do wish they hospital and GP had prescribed me more and stronger painkillers, because over four weeks later and I still get random intense pains in the general area of my missing gallbladder. Post-op pain, according to my GP.
The upshot is I'm alive, and in a better place, both physically and metaphorically.
*turned gangrenous and perforated. I'm not sure that's any better, really.
