Here's a pic of the crowd, and a video showing a great protest idea: people wrote down on cards exactly what they wanted to say to their senators. The ones in the video are G rated, but you gotta wonder what some of them must say.

@catsonacouch, with 1 million followers, got people to write birthday postcards to Vance telling him about donations in his "honor" to progressive causes like The Trevor Project for LGBT youth.
Of course, a lot of people also told him to go fuck a couch.

50501 #WashingtonDC doesn't have a smashing booth (which is still my favorite idea) but they're having a protest afterparty called "Rave Against the Regime." 😆
The average 50501 protest crowd is super fun, so that's probably gonna be a pretty good party!

50501 #Minnesota realized that people need to smash things right now, so they had a smashing booth with rotten produce and broken items deemed unrepairable. They promised to dispose of everything responsibly.
Seems a small price to pay to remain a nonviolent movement. I know even I feel like smashing stuff a lot these days.

The Paramus #NewJersey Visibility Brigade is always out on pedestrian bridges calling for release of the Epstein files, saving Medicaid, and other pro-people, anti-Trump messages. They encourage others to do the same.
Their motto is "Be Brave With Us. We'll Stand With You."

Wow! 50501 Columbus #Ohio had a huge showing for mutual aid with their protest. Efforts like this are essential to an eventual general strike. The protest movement is strengthening community networks all the time. It was the 50501 movement that stepped in to rescue people in the recent Texas floods when FEMA couldn't operate normally due to Trump and Noem's incompetence.

50501 in Hartford #Connecticut is collecting school supplies for mutual aid at the protest, following a nationwide protest trend of supporting families in need during this crisis in the cost of living.

Goofy Protest Thread #37: #RageAgainstTheRegime!
It was kinda hot today, and only cooled off as some thunderstorms rolled in. Despite less than perfect weather, there were still a couple thousand people out; a few brought protest dogs. The organizing groups also decided it was too hot to march safely, given that so many elders and little kids and people with disabilities showed up. We still had speakers, sign ups with groups, and a great time before the storms!

Just go to mobilize.us and search for virtual events on August 2. If you're a member of a hyper targeted group, if you need maximal covid precautions, if you're a blue dot, if the heat might be too much, or for whatever reason it's not realistic to go in person, you can still resist and enjoy community. All it takes is a burner email address so they can send you the link for the protest.
