I've got 2 of these #ebikes I think I'll have to source aftermarket batteries instead (and I know there's no guarantee they'll be any safer)

Last night I made a few tweaks to the configuration of my #ebike's controller, lowering the speed cap to 26kph and reducing max peak power to around 250W. I also set the throttle to Walk mode, so it only assists up to 6kph, which is OK for getting upstairs.
The old top speed was as much as 32kph under the right (off road) conditions, but I barely managed to get 20km on full power.This morning I travelled in to work in about the same time, and still have over 75% battery!

Took the #RadRunner out for the first time this year to pop to the shops.
The cargo net, which usually stays clipped into the back passenger pad manage to get tangled up in the rear hub. I only noticed the chain pop off, but it could have locked it up.
Bought a craft knife from the shop across the road and cut it off and tossed it in the bin.

First spin of the year with my daughter on the #RadRunner s. She's a bit nervous on the bike as she didn't get to ride over the winter, but with a few practice runs, she'll be up for longer spins. It's still a bit cooler than I'd like for cycles in regular clothes, but grand for a short pedal to the shops!

La batterie électrique de mon #velotaf #Fatbike #RadRunner ne fonctionnait plus depuis qq jours. Plus rien ne semblait en sortir et impossible de la recharger. Pourtant aucun choc notable, et je la gardais bien au chaud tous les soirs chez moi.
J'ai décidé de l'ouvrir pour vérifier... Et j'ai découvert des traces d'eau dans le compartiment, sur les batteries et dans le barillet lui-même. La récente journée de neige à Paris a eu pour effet de faire passer l'eau à l'intérieur depuis le barillet ?

First acoustic commute on the new (to me) #brompton this morning, slightly slower than the #RadRunner but very manageable! I've added a couple of lights and my favourite saddle, but I'd like to get grippier flat pedals. First gear doesn't always engage when I'd like, I think I need to adjust the cable tension.

After seeing my buddy commute on a bike yesterday (while I was in the car), I decided to get mine out this morning while the weather’s still halfway decent. I forgot to charge the battery, so started with about 75%, arrived at work with under 20%, and now I’ve got a fine dose of range anxiety for the ride home! 😀 I've cycled the #RadRunner with a flat battery before—it’s no lightweight!

Just back from Oranmore on the bike with the shopping.
Passing through Carnmore X, the lights went to amber, but I went through anyways.
Never spotted that the squad car I'd just passed (on the road up from the roundabout) had turned around.
He pulled me in after the petrol station.
Accused me of running the light and taking a dangerous line through the crossroads. €40 fine for cycling without due care.
Lesson learnt!

#Radrunner upgrade fail. I wanted to install a larger front chainring (60T), but I've no chain splitter, and the replacement chain is too short!

Blew the dust off the soldering iron for some Nerd Welding™ this afternoon, so I could reuse a Julet connector for the #Radrunner rear light. I'd planned to use a different retro style case, but it's rusted solid, so I'll make do with the plastic case for now.
Tried to make it as neat as I could, with colour coded heat shrink, but my skills are limited.
It's ugly, but it works. And it means less faffing around with switching on USB lights every time I start the bike. -

Keeping warm while waiting on the plumber by changing brake pads on the #RadRunner. I seem to be doing this quite often. semimetallic pads are lasting longer, but they gave up dramatically in the wet today

Yesterday I swapped my #Brooklands leather saddle for the regular #RadRunner seat as it got wet. I set it much lower than I would usually, which lets me sit nice and relaxed on the commute. Unfortunately, it also causes the rain to run up my legs and pool in the crotchal area, leaving me walking like John Wayne until I dry out a bit more... #ebikes #BikeTooter

Undoing the mistakes of the previous fix. Turns out a 13G spoke does not tighten into a 12G nipple. Every day a school day. Still, at least I was able to sort it out without removing the wheel!

Sunday spannering on a Monday to replace a broken spoke on the #ebike. Managed to round off an Allen bolt by step 2, which turned a 20 minute job into an hour's work. All done now, and the test ride is complete.
I need a lie down after all that!

Took the old green #RadRunner to the shops earlier (my daughter usually rides it) and it was creaking like an old gate. Bracing myself for a full crank dissassembly, I started watching videos to see what it might be.

I was worried the electronics got wet, but it started no problem, so I had my first new #BikeCommute this morning! #ebike #velophant #BikeTooter -
