  2. Did you at my one point wonder, why in 1982 suddenly German songs like Trio's "Da Da Da" or Nenas "99 Luftballons" entered the international charts and - at least Trio - where slightly unusual?
From what scene did they emerge from?!

    #RadioIrrtum! will air this Saturday, 2025/08/30, 8:00pm UTC+2, Berlin time. At Alex Berlin FM at 91MHz / DAB+ K7D around #Berlin + worldwide at https://www.alex-berlin.de/radio-livestream .

    Why? What is this?

#Radio Irrtum! is a German language (usually) #radioShow exploring the sonic vastness of the #underground. Emitted transmissions may raise attention for new unheard #music all over this planet's genre spectrum. Don't worry about that German language - it's about the music!

Well about the latter… not this time! Neither will I talk in German the whole time but mostly in English! Because this matter is too important for the World to know (I think). Nor is this new music. But music mostly from 1979-1981, the small time frame before the "real" Neue Deutsche Welle ("NDW") broke all over, the thing the music industry transformed it into (a cash cow), something completely different compared to what its pioneers intended.

This is about those pioneers. Sick of art, or progressive rock, and punk they wanted to do something completely off limits, something completely new, something "Anti music" that still somehow was "music". Just so different. A one in a thousand years moment where people tried to get on a different track. A moment that didn't come back since.
This radio special can only cover the surface of that super diverse scene; a scene agreeing on one thing only: About not doing rock music.
Which will make this special issue maybe the most complicated, hard to get into Radio Irrtum! show ever. But if you make it, you will be rewarded, yes rewarded, with most unusual concepts in music, with humor in music (yes! - not just in text) and all in all something, you may carry with you for your whole life. If you are open to it. I mean it. I certainly did.

So: Can you stand it? Are you up to the task?

One more thing: I've prerecorded this not knowing, that Alfred Hilsberg (Zickzack Label) would leave this planet forever some days later. This show is dedicated to him. Thanks Alfred, for the sonic light you carried.

I'll post playlist + manuscript later here (provided I’m home, else it will come up the day after). And if you have questions? I'll gladly answer! Just ask!
    CU all on Saturday! :)

  8. CW: Antifascist motivational speech / excerpt of "Shower: a call for shouts"

    Hi everyone!

Today, may 05, 2025 from 18:00 to 18:30 CEST, my piece for the 1049th episode of Radia will be broadcasted on p-node.org.

    Shower: a call for shouts

    > first it was a call,
    > then it was a fail,
    > thus it was a fiction,
    > although it was a show,
    > yet it was a need,
    > but it was a spoof,
    > albeit it was an effort,
    > so it was a part,
    > also it was a thing,
    > in the end, it is a call.

    > a call for shouts,
    > a call for action.

As a present, here's the motivational speech podcast I used to prepare the show :guerrilla_why:

To be used as much as you need!

musical background are excerpts of The Flood by @rrrrroseazerty / Soft and Furious, released in April 18th, 2025. Go support her, get some of her CC Atrribution :

Thanks a lot to @dinahbird for your invitation!

Have a good week, may all of you be surrounded with furious love and peace.

  9. An Eye from above - new video extract and webpage.

For over 20 years, the three NOAA satellites have been crossing our sky at over 20,000 km/h, continuously scanning the Earth's clouds and radiant energies.

An Eye from above is a performance that attempts to receive a live signal from one of these satellites, using an adapted antenna and a radio tuned to 137 MHz. As the satellite rises above our horizon, its signal slowly emerges from the surrounding noise, giving rise to a characteristic pulsation. The antenna acts as a revealer, making perceptible the electrical energy that passes through our bodies and our environment amidst a crowd of other artificial signals.

Poetry of analog protocols: this pulsation can be decoded into an image. Slowly, line by line, a nephanalysis of the 2000 km that surround us appears. Clouds and infrared radiation from the ground are displayed, offering a shift from our point of view to that of a space object.

  11. Show 1028: Vienna Crawling (Radio Orange 94.0)

by Vienna Radia Collective feat. Fabi Lux

With the programme VIENNA CRAWLING, the Vienna Radia Collective feat. Fabi Lux would like to welcome a new guest (Fabi) to Vienna and make ‘arriving in the city’ the topic of discussion.

Equipped with the sounds of the city on their way to the radio station, the group met for a radio programme in which the concept of the programme was discussed live in an on-air public editorial meeting. Fabi Lux used the material from all the participants, including the recording of this editorial meeting, as material for a remix.

Fabi mixed the sounds with DJ software, changed speeds, added effects and asked chance if it would like to contribute to the flow. VIENNA CRAWLING is a mixtape that tells of the journey, of arriving and then inviting you to take another trip.
