  1. Please someone instruct me how to turn off this radiator! I have tried rotating the valve in both directions, no change! The receptionist doesn't know either! I am cooking here! The window only opens 20 or so cm! I came to Norway to not cook to death and now Norway is trying to cook me to death!

ETA: I did what I had to do.

ETA2: Thanks everyone, something worked, the radiator is cold now. I have done several things and will revert them before leaving.

  2. On tent #laserium on the final night of #emfcamp using a Wicked lasers #lasercube and a Neon Captain #radiator laser synthesiser.

  4. CW: Disgusting image of dust covered PC radiator

Somehow, over 3 years of owning this PC it never occured to me to take the fans off the radiator and clean under them.

Now I know why my idle CPU temps were pinned at 80 Celsius...

  5. "An Adventure in #YakShaving", or "How replacing a #Radiator took way longer than expected, because some asshole didn't do a proper job installing an isolating inner wall and left a hole behind it".

An ongoing story in four parts. So far. An I haven't even started putting up the new radiator.

  6. @Janet_52square Ohhh, and because I'm a (UK #radiator) #heating nerd I spent a little while admiring that and the TRV rather than getting to your tiling point! Good job in any case!

  7. Another home #radiator question, please folks...

How do you calculate the #BTU / power that you need?

I've tried 4 different professional plumbing websites and, for the same info/dimensions, have got estimates for anything from 3500 BTU to 5600 BTU.

Which is quite a range - and so quite a big cost difference...

Is there a reliable way to work it out?

Room is 4.67 x 3.8 x 2.4m, apx 3m2 of double glazed windows/door. Concrete over earth underfloor (we think) with heated bedroom above.

    Thank you!

  8. Using my #laptop to keep a bag of fries warm, wondering how feasible it would be to adapt a #HeatSink and/or #radiator to hold, like, #coffee cups.

I like my coffee warm and I don't want to microwave it.

If I ever get a #WaterCooling setup, that radiator is gonna be external with a copper plate welded to it.
